Native script --- type script community (there needs, desire so that communicate with them effectively)

Where are the communities we should be active in where they can get to know we are present in
market

Corporate back – size of activity in terms of numbers

Is it more around JS news or more around giving opportunities to learn JS or advanced or for job search
(so that could publish accordingly)?

What does the community platform support – message board, Q&A, capabilities of the site, allows for
promotion, allows ads …

Identify other technologies that are also covered like jquery, angular, etc., and whether there is a lot of
cross-linking or relationship with other sites

 Identify patterns of topics that are addressed in the community. (might not do text analysis)

 Pay particular attention to mobility, chat, multi-channel, PWA, code sharing, low-code or
anything to do with developer productivity. (Think Kinvey or nativescript to help. If writing
business logic then we use, look to see what is going on with type script, progress web apps
related to JS, code sharing – focused on developers. If some website are positioned for
architects or higher level –then identify)

Research JavaScript Communities

Determine what JavaScript communities exist – global (web), or regional – digital or in-person –
community driven or vendor backed.
 Where possible, identify the community URL, name, description, corporate or community
backer, number of members / questions / posts / topics.
 Assess the type of topics (news, learning, troubleshooting, job search, etc.), assess beginner vs.
advanced topics.
 Describe the capabilities of the community platform and identify if there are active / dominant
vendor contributions.
 Identify if the community allows promoted material in any format, including ads.
 Identify other technologies that are also covered like jquery, angular, etc., and whether there is
a lot of cross-linking or relationship with other sites.
 Identify patterns of topics that are addressed in the community.
 Pay particular attention to mobility, chat, multi-channel, PWA, code sharing, low-code or
anything to do with developer productivity.
 Think through the NativeScript angle – does this ever come up in the community discussions?
Are there any references to the NativeScript community sites?

Research Gartner and Forrester or other analyst communities to see if they cover the JavaScript market
since they may have info that can help your research,

You can proceed the way you would like, but I would suggest that you…

Phase 1

 Work to identify the communities and create an initial inventory – and prioritize by most
important to least important. Create a spreadsheet or create a mechanism to capture the
information.
 Assess the inventory and see if there are categories that can be used to group / classify the
entire list.
 For one of the communities, go through the more advanced analysis and track the time spent so
we can assess how much time is needed if we were to do advanced analysis on all of the
communities. You will need to formulate a doc (probably spreadsheet) to capture this
information which will act as a template for the other communities that we choose to detail.
 Based on your research, formulate 3-5 questions that we can submit to a Gartner and Forrester
for an inquiry call that will help fill out your results.
 Schedule check-in with Dan and Mark to report these initial findings and recommendations
about moving forward.

Phase 2

 To be guided by Dan and Mark when we assess the results of Phase 1. But likely to include:
o Detailed analysis of other high-priority communities
o Recommendations about where we should invest time and effort, ideas about how to
participate, etc,.

Next week -- If some website are positioned for architects or higher level –then identify( Go in detail)
Also cross check with Native script
PWA – Progressive web apps
How mobile applications built overtime – objective C, Java, Codeva (One code operating systems) but
has technical limitations – web view and has security issues so other alternative – React native & Native
scripts
Native scripts – doesn’t do ldap or security – combination with kinvey (Combines backend adds security)
Kinvey – 12 different SDKs – promoting as an entire platform – low code market (mendix) - Mendix is a
low-code software platform.

Position as Kinvey as a platform

Competitor scenarios – more people come to us (building mobile application or multi channel
applications) using kinvey, azure or AWS
2 different perspective – Thinking about public cloud and easier way to get to the cloud
Other is – low code and how we connect to mendix (how our platform is used)
How to get to AWS, Azure or serverless or microservices (--for 1st perspective)
Mendix, salesforce (competitors for low code)
QuickBase, Inc.
Appian Corporation (Cloud computing company)
PegaSystems

Drag drop – simple applications

We are for professional developers using JS while simplifying things and build complex
Also older technologies – kinvey microservices – and older technologies

Mendix --- Has any community? Or any other competitors ---

Any JS coder can be very productive using Kinvey or Nativescripts ---
