City will apply jointly
with Long Prairie for
Housing Rehab funds

The Browerville City Council
meeting was called to order by
Mayor Aksamit Thursday
October 14. Willie Hetland
voiced his concerns about the
“Jake braking” noise from semi
trucks that is taking place near
his home and other areas around
the city. He said it is very loud
and happens at all hours. Chief
Deputy John Sarago also said
there have been several calls of
complaints that have come into
the Todd County Sheriff ’s Office.
He also explained to council
members the county and state
ordinances and reviewed the
city’s ordinance. He explained if
smaller communities establish
specific noise ordinances and
placed “No Jake Braking” signs
at city limits, it has helped a lot
to reduce or stop the problem.
City Administrator Lynn Fabro
has spoken to Sheriff Pete
Mikkelson about the problem
and he will have officers give out
warning tickets to the offenders.

Building permits were
approved for; Carl Brehmer -
building a 26’ X 30’X8’ garage in
the rear yard, Kelly Callahan –
remove existing garage and
replace with a 26’X48’ garage in
same location, and Todd County
HRA – demolish existing house
and garage at 251 6th Street E.

projects are started.

On October 6, 2010, agents of the Central Minnesota Drug and
Gang Task Force (CMDGTF) along with the Minnesota Bureau of
Criminal Apprehension (BCA) executed a search warrant in Section
23, Little Elk Township, Todd County. There agents seized 443 mar-
ijuana plants. David Minh Phan, 40, Farmington, and Quy Trong
Nguyen, 34, St. Louis Park, were arrested in connection with this
investigation. Agents also executed search warrants on two resi-
dences in St. Louis Park and Farmington.
Both men were arraigned in Todd County District Court on mul-
tiple counts of first and second degree controlled substance crimes.
CMDGTF and the BCA were assisted in the investigation by the
Todd County Sheriff ’s Department, Morrison County Sheriff ’s
Department, Little Falls Police Department, Farmington Police
Department, St. Louis Park Police Department, Northwest Metro
Drug Task Force, and the Dakota County Drug Task force. The mat-
ter is still under investigation.
