A Study of Electrical Energy Saving in Z/B field

Introduction:-
The purpose of this paper is to study the ways of electrical energy saving in ZIET BAY by collecting the
data of how much electrical energy using for electrical lamps and electric heaters then calculating
approximate electricity consumption from total electrical energy in ZB field.

Energy consumption:-

Electric lamps and electric heaters are the lowest levels of energy consumption in Z/B field compared
with energy consumption in other sectors. The total energy consumption in electric lamps approx... 175
kWh and electric heaters approx... 250 KWh.

1- Electric lamps
- For ( G.O.S.P + STREET LIGHTING +CAMP AREA)
Total 400 watt lamps = 95 lamp
Total 250 watt lamps = 40 lamp
Total 160 watt lamps = 80 lamp
Total 125 watt lamps = 160 lamp
Total florescent 60 cm (20 watt) lamps = 460 lamp
Total florescent 120 cm (40 watt) lamps = 100 lamp

Total lamps power consumption approx. = 100 KWH

- For gas plant

Total 400 watt lamps = 85 lamp
Total florescent 60 cm (20 watt) lamps = 1600 lamp
Total florescent 120 cm (40 watt) lamps = 250 lamp

Total lamps power consumption approx.… = 75 KWH

Total electric lamps power consumption for 12 hours (at night) per month approx...= 50 MWH

2- Electric heaters
- Total electrical heaters (1500 WATT) approx.…= 170 heaters

Total heaters power consumption approx.… = 250 KWH

Total heaters power consumption for average 10 hours operation approx...= 60 MWH

Finally. The total monthly Z/B power consumption from lightings and heaters = 110 MWH

And total Z/B field monthly power consumption as below table:-

Finally, We conclude from the above information that the percentage of lighting consumption
and electric heaters ranges between 5% to 7% from the total Z/B power consumption and this
value is too small to change the normal bulbs to LED as well as the change of electric heaters to
solar powered heaters and thus have no economic feasibility as we generate the electrical
energy at site and does not take from the grid anything.
