Guru Nanak is known for his political, social and spiritual beliefs, which

were based on love, equality, fraternity and virtue. He traveled to far

off places and spread the message of 'one God' and that God
constitutes the eternal truth and he resides in his creations. His
teachings can be found in the sacred Sikh scripture Guru Granth
Sahib -- a vast collection of verses recorded in Gurmukhi.
You might not have read the holy book, or have any slightest
inclination to reading the Guru Granth Sahib, but you'll be shocked to
see how relevant the teachings are to you and how much sense they
make towards living a peaceful life.

”Vaheguru”, “Vaheguru”, “Vaaheguru”, “Vaahe Jee-o”, Wow! Wow! O Beloved! I am a sacrifice!

You are lotus-eyed, with sweet speech, exalted and embellished with millions of companions.
(For me it is You who) Mother Yashoda invited and said, “O son (come), eat yoghurt and rice.
Gazing upon Your supremely beautiful form, and hearing the musical sounds of Your silver bells tinkling,
(Mother Yashoda) was intoxicated with delight.
(O person!) Death's pen and command are in Your hands.
Tell me, who can erase it? Shiva and Brahma yearn to enshrine Your spiritual wisdom in their hearts.
O Vaheguru, You are forever True, the Home of Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being.
“Vaheguru”, “Vaheguru”, “Vaheguru”, “Vaahe Jee-o”. ((1)(6))

Gurbani refers to the text of Sikhism's holy scripture or the word of Guru
Granth Sahib. Sikhs revere the scripture of the Granth as their everlasting guru
and consider Gurbani the means of enlightenment and salvation.

If you want to understand Gurubani properly then one need to become a Vaishnava to really see how
Gurus actually tried to make people understand that Krishna is supreme Lord. There is no difference
between Waheguru and Krishna. You can say two different names of the same Almighty Lord.
Let's talk about the facts, Bhai Gurudas who was scribe of Guru Granth Sahib and relative of Guru Arjun
Dev ji wrote Varaan which are considered to be key of the Gurubani.

Waheguru - Wonderful Guru, The wonderful God

The origins of the Gurmantar 'Waheguru' have been explained by Bhai Gurdas ji as follows:
Bhai Gurdas ji Vaar
In Satyug, Visnu in the form of Vasudev is said to have incarnated and ‘V’ Of Vahiguru reminds of Visnu.
The true Guru of Dvapar is said to be Harikrsna and ‘H’ of Vahiguru reminds of Hari.
In the the Treta was Ram and ‘R’ of Vahiguru tells that rembering Ram will produce joy and happiness.
In Kalijug, Gobind is in the form of Nanak and ‘G’ of Vahiguru gets Govind recited.
The recitations o f all the four ages subsume in Panchayan i.e. in the soul of the common man.
When joining four letters Vahiguru is remembered, The jiv merges again in its origin.

The scriptures of Gurbani emphasizes the importance of contemplating and

praising Waheguru:

 The word Waheguru appears 13 times in the Scripture of Guru

Granth Sahib in a series of divine hymns composed by the Bhatt minstrel
Gyand which praise the excellence of the Wondrous Enlightener. This verse
is one example:

"Vaahehguroo Vaaheguroo Vaaheguroo Vaahe jeeo ||

Waahe Guru, Waahe Guru, Waahe Guru, Waahe Jee-o.

Kaval nain madhur bain kott sain sang sobh kehat maa jasod jiseh dehee
bhaat khaahe jeeo ||
Lotus-eyed, sweet of speech, exalted and embellished with millions of
companions, Mother Yashoda invited Thee [as Krishna] to partake sweet
rice and curd.

Daekh roop at anoop moh mehaa mag bhee kinkanee sabad jhanatakaar
khael paahe jeeo ||
Seeing Thy supremely beautiful form, and hearing the musical tinkling of
Thy silver bells when Thee played, intoxicated the mother with loving
delight.

Kaal kalam hukam haath kehhu koun maett sakai ees banmya gyaan
dhyaan dharat heeai chaahe jeeo ||
Death's pen is commanded by Thy hands, who can erase Thy writ? Shiva
and Brahma meditate yearning to enshrine Thy spiritual wisdom in their
hearts.

Sat saach sree nivaas aad purakh sadhaa tuhee vaaheguroo vaaheguroo
vaaheguroo vaahe jeeo ||1||6||Thou are forever just and true, the abode of
Excellence, the Primal Supreme Being. Waahe Guru, Waahe Guru, Waahe
Guru, Waahe Jee-o. "||1||6|| SGGS 1402

 Sikhs are ultimately meant to contemplate Waheguru with every

thought, deed, and breath.
Fifth Guru Arjan Dev wrote:

"Baitat ootat sovat jaagat visar naahee toon saas giraasaa ||1|| rehaao||
Sitting down, standing up, while sleeping or awake with each morsel of
food, and every breath I never forget You." ||1||Pause|| SGGS||378
