Other Duties
Worked with Applied Science department in assisting students to prepare oral
presentations as part of accreditation process. Advised undeclared students at
registration. Acted as faculty advisor for the Stanton Campus Diversity Club,
and English Honor Society. Worked on committee for $100, 000 grant for
Learning Communities. Co-developed survey for First Year Experience.Worked
on Diversity Committee, and Blackboard User Group committee.
Advisor
Met with students who have academic concerns and are in need counseling.
Worked as a general advisor during open registration. Arranged student
schedules. Acted as advisor of Creative Expression Society. Edited and designed
the annual literary journal. Promoted and coordinated the annual poetry reading.
Testing
Devised the testing process for challenge exams in ENG 122, ENG 121, and
RDG 120. Evaluated challenge exams. Administered all English/Reading
diagnostic exams.
Additional Activities
Acted as editor and founder of a chapbook for the Diversity Committee. Spoke
at Diversity celebration. Attended the 2003, and 2004 MLA conference.
Attended the University of Delaware's MA program in English; currently
working on editing and writing and article on unpublished material by Meridel
LeSueur. Gave lecture on electronic research for a visiting middle school class.
Attended Everett Meredith Middle School to speak on careers in English.
Attended the 2005 MLA conference. Attended the 2006 & 2008 NCTE national
convention. Social Media Director for TYCA-NE from 2017. Served on
Multiple Measures task force 2018-2019.
