REFLECTION Although John’s Gospel does not specifically mention it, there was
certainly music at the wedding in Cana. We are entitled to think of Jesus and the disciples
dancing, singing, drinking and generally joining in the celebrations. The first ‘sign’ in
which Jesus reveals his glory has this joyful setting, taking us back to the dawn of creation
when God declares the goodness of what is made. The fruits of the earth are made to be

believe, and John offers us the same opportunity.
