S/00 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
S1/00 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
S1/01 The tenderer is advised to refer to the General Notes, Note

Pricing Preambles, Drawings, Specifications, Condition
of Contract, Special Conditions of Contract and other
relevant documents prior to pricing of the following
items.
S1/02 The tenderer shall provide a schedule of all builder's work Note
in connection with in detail of the same as necessary
along with the tender.
S1/03 The tenderer shall provide all dimensions, and technical Note
information of all builders work to the Engineer in
advance in relation to the programme of work.
S1/04 All connection cables, sleeves, trench joints etc. to and Note
out of the building shall be flexible allowing a provision
for any settlement or movements.
S1/05 The extent of the work as provided for in this bill of Note
quantities shall consist of all the items covered under the
Specifications.
S1/06 Rate shall include for necessary chasings, trenching, Note

conduits, cables, cable trays, fittings and clips, cutting
holes and chases in brick work/ block work/ concrete
work complete with all necessary accessories such as
sockets, connections, cable glands and boxes, hardware
clips, soldering and jointing materials etc., for proper
installing and laying of cables.
S1/07 Rates shall include for point wiring include supply & Note
installation of all cables, wiring, Conduting, clips, earth
cables, draw wires, brackets, ceiling roses, wiring,
wooden blocks, junction boxes, switch boxes, 3 core
flexible cord, bulb holders, accessories, switches, socket
outlet bases/switches, all hardware fixings and insulating
materials, junction boxes, fan hooks, fan hangers,
connectors, cutting holes and chases and making good in
all trades.
S1/08 All switches and socket outlets shall be approved type and Note
all samples of switches and socket outlets shall be
submitted with necessary technical specifications to the
Engineer's approval prior to installation.
S1/09 The tenderer shall submit the following information on Note
the items/equipment quoted for together with the tender.
a. make
b. model No.
c. technical data
d. country of manufacture
e. delivery period
f. lead time for manufacturing.
g. port of shipping
h. CIF value of each item in foreign currency.
j. Optional items and their additional cost. (additional
cost to be submitted separately)
k. Schedule of items to be carried out by others
connected to installation of
generators/transformers/Electrical panels such as some
builders work and electrical connection.
l. Details of all special features
m. schedule attached to specification.
S1/10 The tenderer shall submit the technical information and Note
manuals etc., in triplicate.
S1/11 All under ground cables directly buried in ground/run in Note

trenches to be properly laid and covered with cable
tiles/trench covers. Rate for under ground cables shall
include for all necessary excavation, sand layers, concrete
tiles, warning strips and back filling with approved
quality earth properly compacted, hot dipped galvanized
brackets for trenches, accessories...etc. as applicable.
S1/12 Rates for all electrical panels shall include for supply and Note
installation of all necessary MCCB's, MCB's, EFR's,
ELCB's auxiliary contacts, Volt meters, ammeters, kWh
meters, indicator lamps, selector switches, inter
connecting copper bus bars, inter locks aligning and
grounding the panel, intern connectors, internal wiring
instrument wiring loops, connecting to switch gears, cable
gland lugs, steel channels and necessary hardware fixing
and insulating materials with fully enclosed metal clad
panels and distribution boards where ever necessary and
complete as shown in drawing and comply with the
specifications, and as per relevant latest B.S. standards
and I.E.E. regulations and all complete to working order
to the approval of the local authorities an the Engineer.
S1/13 All electrical equipments such as MCB, MCCB, RCCB Note

etc; all switches, socket outlets, Electrical switch gear, all
junction boxes, all flouresecent tubes chokes and ceiling
fan in an approved make in luxury ranges and suitable to
nature of this project and asper the spesification and
approval of the Engineer.
S1/14 Rates shall include for supply installation, testing and Note
commissioning and maintenance of the system for power
and lighting according to drawings and specifications all
complete to working order and to the entire satisfaction of
the Engineer.
S1/15 All materials, equipment wiring shall confirm to local Note

codes, specifications, standards/latest I.E.E. regulations (
BS 7671 ) and Ceylon Electricity Board requirements.
S1/16 All the wiring work done under this contract shall Note
conform to BS 7671 :1992 - IEE Wiring regulation-17th
Edition and any other regulations stipulated by the CEB
S1/17 Rate point wiring shall include for all the conduits, Note
conduit fittings, casings, fixing material, for power points.
S1/18 It is requested to use only ID approved make for switch Note

sand socket outlets, dimmers..etc.
S1/19 All cables for equipments and units designated to function Note
under fire condition to be in fire rated cables and steel
conduits as indicated and rates shall include accordingly.
S1/20 The panel boards supplied and installed under this Note
contract shall be complete with all the requires
accessories such as neutral bars, earth bars, fixing
material…etc.
S1/21 The following may be used as a standard of quality Note

expected in this project.
Enclosures - 'Hensel' or equivalent
Panel Boards - 'KIK' or equivalent
MCCBs - 'TERASAKI/MERLIN GERIN' or equivalent.
MCBs - 'TERASAKI/MERLIN GERIN' or equivalent.
S1/22 Rates for the earthing system shall include for all the Note
wiring from individual DBs to earth bar in the ROOM
MAIN DB from there to the earth pit including
construction of the pit, concrete cover …etc.
