Learning Objectives : Students will be taught to:
 Understand and use the concept of line best fit.

Learning Outcomes :
 Draw lines of best fit by inspection of given data
 Write equations for lines of best fit

Activities :

• Teacher give handout (Student discuss with pairs)


• Teacher guides student through question 2 and 3 in order
• Teacher explain how to get the line of best fit
- Line of best fit has these features:
- the line passes through as many points as possible
- the number of points on both sides of the line is almost the same
• Teacher explain the steps to form the equation of the line of best fit from graph

- Construct a right-angled triangle to calculate the gradient


- Ditermine the Y-intercept (the value of c)
- The equation of the line of bestfit is given by Y = mX + c
• Students do some exercise.

ralations

 Reduce the non-linear equation to the linear form

Activities :

• Teacher asked the student what is difference non-linear function and linear function
• Teacher explain how to reduce non-linear function to the linear form.
- A non linear functions that consist of variables x and y can be reduce to the linear form
Y = mX + c, where X and Y represent the functions of x or y or both.
• Teacher gives some example:
