DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION


GRADE 8

Learning Competency: Execute the skills involve in the sport.

I. Objectives: At the end of the Lesson students should be able to:


a. define what is Taekwondo,
b. enumerate the Basic Steps of Taekwondo and,
c. execute the 5 basic Kicks in Taekwondo.

II. Subject Matter


a. Topic: Individual Sports (TAEKWONDO)
b. Materials: LCD, Loptop, Manila Paper, Pictures, Videos,
Taekwondo Pads.

 Head Ma’am
A roundhouse kick (also
known as swinging kick or an angled
power kick) is a kick in which the
attacker swings their leg around in a
semicircular motion, striking with the
front of the leg or foot.

An Axe Kick (also called a Hammer


Kick, Downward Kick, or naeryeo
chagi) is a kick in which one kicks
downward with a straight leg.

A Side Kick (also Side Piercing


Kick or yeop chagi) is performed by
turning the body sideways with the
hip turned slightly over; chamber the
kicking leg diagonally across the body,
then extend the leg in a linear fashion
toward the target
A Back Kick (also called Spinning
Back Kick, Horse Kick, Donkey Kick,
Mule Kick, or dwi chagi) is performed
by kicking backward, behind you, like
a horse. The striking surface is the
bottom of the foot, ideally the heel.
A Front Kick (also called a Front Snap
Kick, Flash Kick, or ap chagi) is
performed by first raising the knee of
the kicking leg so that the knee is
aimed at the target. The ankle is held
straight in-line with the rest of the leg.

IV. Application
1. Teacher will assign each group a
specific skill
2. Each group will be given 3
minutes to practice the specific
skill that was given to them.

that was given to them.

V. Evaluation
Let the Student Describe in their own words what did they learn
in the Lesson. Individual Activity.
VI. Assignment
Let them research on the Rules and Regulation and violations on
Taekwondo and wear proper attire because they will be having
practicum next meeting. (INDIVIDUAL SPARRING).
