ATION ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: These Terms and Conditions govern
your use of the HP Location Services. These Terms and Conditions supplement an
d incorporate by reference the HP Software License Agreement (http://www.hp.com)
. In the event of a conflict between the HP Software License Agreement and thes
e Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall govern.
DEFINITION: For purposes of these Terms and Conditions and the HP Software Lice
nse Agreement, “Software” includes Global Positioning System (“GPS”) or other software,
location data, and related interfaces, components, and documentation provided or
otherwise made available by HP or its service providers in connection with the
Location Services.
THE LOCATION SERVICES: The Location Services quickly and accurately establish t
he location of your product through the global positioning system (GPS), Wi-Fi p
ositioning or other technology and make it available for the applications and se
rvices you use.
In order to use location-based applications, information about your exact locati
on must be transmitted to Skyhook Wireless (Skyhook Wireless Privacy Policy). If
you do not agree to transmit your location, disable or do not use this service.
Please note: If you disable location services, you will not be able to use HP N
avigator or other location-based applications.
To disable location services, you must uninstall Skyhook XPS by completing the f
ollowing steps.
To uninstall Skyhook XPS on Windows XP
- Go to Start > Control Panel >Add or Remove Programs
- Select Loki Browser Plugin from list and click on Change/Remove button
- Follow dialog to complete uninstallation procedure
- Select Skyhook Wireless XPS Service from list and click on Change/Remove butto
n
- Follow dialog to complete uninstallation procedure
To uninstall Skyhook XPS on Windows 7
- Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program
- Select Loki Browser Plugin from list and click on the Uninstall link
- Follow dialog to complete uninstallation procedure
- Select Skyhook Wireless XPS Service from list and click on the Uninstall link
- Follow dialog to complete uninstallation procedure
SOFTWARE UPDATES: The Software may be automatically updated from time to time.
RESTRICTIONS ON YOUR USE OF THE LOCATION SERVICES:
* You shall not use the Location Services or Software to control any machine, d
evice, system, or vehicle.
* You shall not use the Location Services or Software as or in components of sy
stems intended for the operation of weapons systems, nuclear installations, mean
s of mass transportation, aviation, life support computers or equipment (includi
ng resuscitation equipment and surgical implants), pollution control, hazardous
substances management, or any other dangerous applications in which any failure
of the Location Services or any Software would create a situation where personal
injury or death may occur.
* You shall not tamper with, disable, or otherwise modify any security mechanis
ms contained in the Software or the devices containing or using the Software or
connecting to the Location Services in any way or for any reason prohibited by t
hese Terms and Conditions.
* You shall not make, or permit to be made, any copy of the Software.
* You shall not use the Software other than on the HP system on which it was lo
aded for delivery to you.
* You shall not transfer the Software to any third party.
* You shall not install the Software on a server for distribution to other comp
uters or systems.
* You shall not sell, transfer, assign, or subcontract the Software or any righ
t or obligation set forth in these Terms and Conditions without HP’s prior written
consent.
TERMINATION: HP reserves the right to terminate your access to and use of the L
ocation Services at any time for any or no reason and without notice to you.
EXPORT REGULATIONS: You shall not import, export or re-export, or authorize the
export or re-export of the Software or any other product, technology, or inform
ation that you obtain or learn through your use of the Location Services, or any
copy or direct product thereof, in violation of any applicable laws, restrictio
ns, or regulations.
NO SUPPORT: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall obligate HP or its lice
nsors to provide any support for the Software or the Location Services, includin
g, without limitation, any obligation to correct any defects or provide any upda
tes to the Software to you.
MISCELLANEOUS: The waiver of a breach of any term of these Terms and Conditions
shall in no way be construed as a waiver of any other term or breach of these T
erms and Conditions. You expressly agree that the 1980 United Nations Conventio
n on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply to these Term
s and Conditions.
