INTRODUCTION

Higher Secondary School Education is a very important turning point in the academic
life of one individual. At this stage, the academic performance of adolescents place a valuable role in
their study life. Almost Western countries has its level of schooling, such us Primary, Secondary, High
secondary and Tertiary Education which nowadays called it as K-12, having K-12 Curriculum Program or
it was added 2 more years from four years on high school. Philippine is one of the countries in whole
Southeast Asia having the 10 years Basic Education Cycle in Secondary. According to our government,
we have low quality of Education and it will gain if we will add 2 years in high school. Therefore ex.
President Aquino implemented the K-12 curriculum program into law R.A 10533 (May 15, 2013) to
advocates of educational equity. Therefore, excessive stress during this stage could results in increased
spreading of psychological problems which could ultimately have negative impact on their academic
performance or even in their life (Waghacharve et al, 2013).

Students of Senior High school students in Community Vocational High school exposed
in academic performances, extra-curricular\activities, projects, and school works, that causes of their
confusion and late passing of their academic works. Students have to face many academic burden\load
this includes school examination, answering questions in the class showing progress in school subjects
that brings in the senior high school students pressure and also defined as negative emotional,
cognitive, behavioral and physiological process that occurs as a person or one individual tries to adjust
to (Bernstein, et al, 2008) or what we called stress.

Everyone is exposed to stress at some time in their lives, that uncomfortable situation
that affects our sense of well-being and quality of life. According to Sindhu (2016), stress is considered
as state of individual that result from their interaction with the environment that is perceived as too
demanding and threat to their well-being. It means to say that the stressors are not only physical, but
may also be physiological. Stress was found to be part of students’ life and could give impact on how
students cope with the demands of academic life. Stress becomes needed\normal part of human life
because anything that creates a challenge or a threat to our comfort is stress. All kind of stress is not
considered to be bad because it helps people to perform well. You can experience stress from your
environment, your body, and your thoughts, even positive life changes. Even in our day to day life, stress
is the topic of many conversations, people talk about the stress of balancing home and work life or
home and academic life, the stress of being hard pressed for time, living in mechanical society, dealing
with a crying child, and etc. Stress is a common aspect of many different emotions like anxiety,
frustration, anger, worry, fear, sadness, and despair.
