I. Background of the Destination

Katungkulan Beach Resort (Sitio Calumpang, Sapang 1, Ternate, Cavite)

A. Basic Information:

Boracay de Cavite is a small cove loacated inside Gregorio Lim Marine Base in Calumpang
Ternate, Cavite. It is officially named as Katungkulan Beach Resort, it is one of the decent
beaches near Manila featuring a beach that has gray sand that is so fine and so soft to the feet.
One of the most bold features of Boracay de Cavite is the towering stone wall on one side of the
cove and it is the perfect picture view for your selfie. The water is clear and it is also clean at the
same time. Corregidor Island and the Mariveles mountain range in Bataan are also visible from
the cove.

Ternate is a fourth class municipality of Cavite that is subdivided into 10 barangays

namely 1)Poblacion 1, 2)Poblacion 1A, 3)Poblacion 2, 4)Poblacion 3, 5)San Jose, 6)San Juan 1,
7)San Juan 2, 8)Sapang 1, 9)Sapang 2, 10)Brgy. Bucana.

iii. Land Use and Infrastructure:

The terrain of Ternate is basically mountainous with 70% of the area having a slope of 18-
30%. The vegetative cover of the area is forests. Ternate is a prone area for floods, and
earthquakes. Some of the barangays in Ternate are located near the ocean or sea. The soil is soft
that is why it is prone to landslides.

B. Key Challenges:

Based on the internet site of Trip Advisor, we have collected some series of unsatisfactory
reviews from the tourists who have been there during in the year of 2016 until 2018. Some of the
tourists have stated that there are 1)limited cottage and there are 2)no booking system, on the
contrary it is a “first count, first serve basis”. Other reviews have stated that there are 3)no power
outlets, so it is a must to bring each own power bank. Most of the tourists have stated their
disappointments in 4)limited cubicles that consists of only six divisions and 5)the toilets were
unsanitized plus 6)the dirty shower areas. Also there are 7)disorganize payment system and
monitoring, 8)limited of water supply, and sometimes 9)shorelines are polluted with water lilies,
trash, and etc.
C. Potentials For Success:
There are few potentials in Katungkulan Beach Resort to make it successful in the future and
that is because of the 1)Accessibility of the area, by travelling using a vehicle via a normal route,
from Manila to Tenate,Cavite, it will take up to 2 hours of travelling. Or it can take up to 1 hour
by using the route of CAVITEX. While having a commute, it will take 3 hours of travelling time
and that includes the sudden heavy traffic to Ternate,Cavite. From Southwest Integrated Bus
Terminal (Coastal Mall) in Parañaque City, take a bus bound for Ternate. The fare is about 85
pesos. There public transportation is available going to the Katungkulan Beach Resort, from the
bus terminal, ride a tricycle going to the beach. Another potential is that, it is a 2)secured area
and since the beach resort is inside the Gregorio Lim Marine Base, there are marine men
patrolling the area to make it secured as possible, plus they are courteous as well when it comes
to the guests of the beach. Also it is 3)Family friendly, once they get their feet in the shoreline, it
would make them realize that the sands were soft and comfy as ever and the sea is not that quite
deep, because of the sand formation from underneath was straight so it is also 4)kid friendly. The
Beach Resort also offers 5)the finest view of the sea, plus the stone wall that stands on the other
side of the cove and the awe-inspiring visible view of the Correigdor island and the Mariveles
Mountain Range. The last potential for this beach is that it is also 6)budget friendly, for the
entrance fee, it would costs 100 pesos for day tour until 7 pm while having an overnight it would
costs 200 pesos. For the open cottage, it would range 350-450 pesos, while for the night rooms, it
would costs 700-1500 pesos per night. The beach resort is also open for camping so the guests
can make and set up their own tent. When it comes to food, that ranges from 15 pesos to 260
pesos, they serve roasted chicken, roasted liempo, rice, and common beverages. For their
amenities, they can also sing in the videoke, by putting a 5 peso coin in the karaoke machine.
Also they give discounts to the guests who has navy relatives, and by presenting an ID, their
discount is good to go.

To be known by service and product quality standard, and to be outstanding in promotion of
excellence and cleanliness.

To surpass the guest expectations, and to maximize the area’s preservation and cleanliness.

C. Objectives:
i. To cater the needs of the guests.
ii. Treat each and every guests as a second family.
iii. Provide an unforgettable experience and fun recreational activities that ensures the guest’s
satisfaction.
