Pre-Lube & Post-Lube Pumps Logic in Compressor Units.

Refrigeration Compressor

 Pre-lubrication for refrigeration compressor will happen through electric motor

driven pump when start command is initiated and will run till it receives start
signal from Engine or exceed pre-lube timer.
 There is no post-lube for compressor as it is an oil flooded screw compressor.
 If compressor stops at load condition, then electric motor driven pump needs to
be operated manually by hand knob to unload the compressor.
 After Start-up, compressor jack-shaft driven oil pump will supply the oil to
compressor.

Refrigeration Engine

 Engine Pre-lubrication & Post-lubrication will happen through same pump that is
engine mounted and will operate pneumatically.
 Engine will Pre-lube prior to start-up for specific time as programmed.
 Engine Post-Lube will happen only in normal stop condition if there is ESD
condition or tripping condition Post-Lube will not happen.
Off-Gas Compressor

 Off gas compressor Doesn’t required any Pre-lube or Post-Lube system as it is a

Splash Lubrication machine there is no logic for Pre-Lube or Post Lube.
 For Compressor Safe Start-up, a hand operated pump should be provided to
lubricate crankshaft bearings prior to start the compressor.

Export-Gas Compressor & Engine

 Engine & Compressor both have separate pneumatic pre-lube pumps and post-
lubrication will happen through same pumps for the specific timing as
programmed through panel.
 Engine & Compressor both are having crankshaft driven lube oil pumps which
supplies oil to internals during normal operation.
 Post-Lube will happen only in normal stop condition if there is any tripping or
ESD condition post-lube will not happen.
