Each Formation will tell you what units you need to take and
what, if any, options or restrictions apply to the units that
make up that Formation. The army list entries for each unit in
the Formation (the units’ profiles, points values, unit types,
unit composition, special rules, battlefield role etc.) can either
be found in the codex corresponding to the Faction on the
datasheet, or elsewhere in the dataslate itself.
Allied Formations
Formations do not count as your army’s Allied Detachment,
even if they are made up of units from a different Codex to
your Primary Detachment, and they do not stop you from
taking an Allied Detachment in the same army. However, the
Levels of Alliance rules from the Warhammer 40,000
rulebook do apply to them and units chosen from a different
codex that are in the same army.
Miriael Sabathiel is a former Sister-Superior of the Adepta Sororitas' Order of Our Martyred Lady who is the only known Battle-Sister in the history of
the Imperium of Man to have willingly turned to the service of Chaos. The exact circumstances of her fall to the corrupting influence of the Dark Prince is
unknown; however, what is known is that Miriael eventually turned from the Emperor's light to the worship of Slaanesh, and now serves as one of the
Prince of Pleasure's greatest Chaos Champions. Miriael wanders the galaxy since her betrayal of the Emperor's cause, slaughtering the enemies of her
God.
Seduced by the Dark Powers, these former maidens of purity are now little more than slaves to their darkest desires; their years of discipline and piety
corrupted into malice and perverse devotion to their newfound benefactors. They are extremely rare, as the Adepta Sororitas are ever-vigilant for
corruption within their own ranks. However, with each passing year their numbers grow as Miriael Sabathiel continues her quest and the power of the
Chaos Gods waxes.
