FINAL EXAMINATIONS

Course Requirements:

 Oral Reporting
 Reaction Paper
 Research Works
 Worksheets and Activity Sheets fully accomplished

Evaluation Procedures: (Approved Grading System Applicable to the Course/Program)

Grading System: for ACADEMIC and PROFESSIONAL subjects

A. Collegiate Grade Limits:
For mid-term and final term, the lowest grade is 65 equivalent to 5.0 in the point scale; and the highest grade is 95 equivalent to 1.0.
B. Transmutation of Raw Scores to Ratings:
The highest grade of 95 or 1.0 is equivalent to the highest possible score (the perfect score) and the lowest passing grade of 75 or 3.0 is equivalent to 50% of
the perfect score. Scores less than 50% of the highest possible score belong to conditional failures with grades of 3.1 to 4.0, and failures with grades of 4.1 to 5.0. A
score of zero (0) is equivalent to 5.0.
C. Computation of Grades for Mid-Term and Final Term:
The class standing components of the mid-term and final grades shall be: (a) daily quizzes, (b) recitation/participation, and (c) projects

(exercises/worksheets/supplementary problems and other requirements). The daily quizzes would be in the form of written, oral or performance tests. The
following weights shall be credited for the components of the class standing rating: 30% for quizzes, 20% for recitation and 10% for attendance.
The mid-term grades and the final term grades are computed by considering 60% of the class standing rating added to 40% of the periodical test rating.

The table illustrates the weights of the components for the NON-laboratory subjects.

Daily Class Standing

Term Exam Rating Rating
Student Quizzes Participation Attendance
(40%) (Numerical) (Point Scale)
(30%) (20%) (10%)
A 85 25.5 89 17.8 88 8.8 84 33.6 86 1.9

Solution: (85 x 0.3) + (89 x 0.2) + (88 x 0.10) + (84 x 0.40) = 86 = 1.9
D. Computation of Final Rating for a Semester:
To find the final rating for a semester (for 1 student in 1 subject) add the mid-term grade to the final grade, and divide the sum by 2. A remainder of 0.5 shall be
credited in favor of the student.
