Use separable and inseparable phrasal verbs
Use or omit the articles the and a/an
Concentrate on important information first
Find specific information quickly
MATERIALS: textbook, blackboard, ss notebooks, cassette recorder

ACTIVITY 1

Aim: to introduce students in the right atmosphere for the lesson


Procedure: T asks ss what do they think when they hear “express” from “Children’s
Express”
Time: 1’

ACTIVITY 2

Aim: to find important information


Procedure: T asks ss to run their eyes over the lesson answer 2-3 questions
Time: 5’
ACTIVITY 3

Aim: to use or omit the articles the and a/an


Procedure: ss read the lesson and fill in the blanks with the, a, an where necessary.
T writes the answers on the Bb

ACTIVITY 4

Aim: Concentrate on important information first


To practise listening
Procedure: T plays the cassette- ss answer to a general question
Ss write in their notebooks the aspects of the topic speakers mention in the
book
T plays the cassette again- ss tick only the aspects mentioned in the
interviews (ex 8/51)
