(8 x 8) Felder unterteilt und auf einem Blatt notiert.
Die Felder sind in acht horizontale und acht vertikale Reihen ein-
geteilt, die von links nach rechts und umgekehn und von oben
nach unten und umgekehn gelesen *erJen kcinnen. Vor den
Randfeldern stehen Griffnot"iion.n, die ieweiliee position der
linken Hand und der Finger des Spielers betrefffnd, welche ftir
die ganze entsprechendeReihe der'Felder giiltig sind.
Innerhalb der Felder isr stets von links na.[ .ec'hts zu lesen: auf
dem 6-Linien-System(jede Linie entspricht einer Saiteder Gitar-
re, die untere Linie der tiefsten, die obere Linie der h<ichsten)ist
die Aktion der rechten Hand, meistens in ,,proportionellen Me-
tren" aufgezeichnet.

One player performs the "Hexachord l" version for solo euitar
while the other plays the inversion, beginning with the field"H l;
the venical order of fields is from bottom to t-op, the row order ii
from left to right (row l, 2, 3 . . . 8), using the-fingerines in the
lower margin of the page. For the "recapilulatior,;, thi second
player begins with H l, the order of fielils movins from left to
right (H l,H 2, H 3 . . . H 8), the order of rows fr6m bottom to
top (H, G, F . . . A), using the fingerings in the right margin of
the page.
The durations of the individual fields are treated more freelv than
in the version for guitar solo; the rests are expanded to giue the
duo playing grearer_rransparencyand plasticity. Of decis-iveim-
portanc€ to rhe performance is the player's abiliry to listen and
respond to each other. The rests indiiatid by the empry fields are
expanded, and are regarded as long fermatis.
The.last row (eight fields) of rhe "reiapitulation" - for guitar I rhe
vertical row 8, for guitar II the horiz-ontal row A - is'performed
like-a stretto !y b"qh players, with heightened dynamics, ..rem-
pos" and densiry. The first player to ariive at thi last row sives
the signal for the srretto. TSe bther player, no marter *her? he
happens to be, completes his field aird -then continues with the
stretto as mentioned above.
