LESSON: Past tense simple revise

TYPE OF LESSON: reading, listening , language acquisition and vocabulary practice

MATERIALS/RESOURCES: textbooks, laptop, cd, pictures.

COMPETENCES: 1.1, 1.2, 2.1,2.2,2.3, 3.1,3.2,3.3, 4.2, 4.3.

AIMS: 1. to practice vocabulary related to feelings/ emotions and holidays.

2. to engage in speaking activities to use Past tense simple;

3. to solve different types of exercises using Past tense simple;

4. to use appropriate adverbs and time expressions together with Past tense simple when forming questions and statements ;

5. to listen to and understand a short conversation about someone’s holiday;

6. to activate previously acquired grammar structure.

Warm-up (Time: 2 mins)

Aim: to prepare the students for the lesson.

Procedure: Teacher greets the students, introduces herself and asks them several questions, such as:

How are you today?, What’s the weather like today?;

Hi Toby,

How are you? I had an amazing holiday in Greece. I went to a beautiful island, Paxos, near Corfu. I did a lot of different activities there- I
went sailing, swimming and snorkelling! I also went sightseeing and learned some Greek words. On the last night I went to a party in the
village. I met some really nice, friendly people there and I ate octopus!(It was quite good.)
I bought some new holiday things in Paxos, too- some new sunglasses and a sun hat. I look really cool in them! I left the island yesterday
and I got home last night. I felt really happy at first but today it’s raining here so I feel a bit sad!
