SYMMETRICAL 3 PHASE FAULTS

1. With the oscillogram of the short circuit current of a June/July


synchronous machine, define sub transient reactance, transient 2015 CO2 BT 2
and steady state reactances 10M

the subtransient fault current at motor side. Choose 25MVA as
base power, 11KVin the generator circuit.

terminal voltage of 10.6kv when a symmetrical three phase fault
occurs at the motor terminals. Find the subtransient current in the

in generator circuit

sequence reactances.
