General Instructions: Maximum Marks: 80

1. All the questions are compulsory.


2. The questions paper consists of 30 questions divided into 4 sections A, B, C and D.
3. Section A comprises of 6 questions of 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 6 questions of 2
marks each. Section C comprises of 10 questions of 3 marks each. Section D comprises of 8
questions of 4 marks each.
4. There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in two questions of
1 mark each, two questions of 2 marks each, four questions of 3 marks each and three questions
of 4 marks each. You have to attempt only one of the alternatives in all such questions.
5. Use of calculators is not permitted.

SECTION – ‘A’

Q.1. In each of the following find the value of ‘k’, for which the points are collinear.

Q.2. Find the roots of the following quadratic equations, if they exist, using the quadratic

Find the roots of the following quadratic equations by factorisation:

Q.21. A metallic sphere of radius 4.2 cm is melted and recast into the shape of a cylinder
of radius 6 cm. Find the height of the cylinder.

A spherical glass vessel has a cylindrical neck 8 cm long, 2 cm in diameter; the


Diameter o the spherical part is 8.5 cm. By measuring the amount of water it holds,
a child finds its volume to be 345 𝒄𝒎𝟑 . Check whether she is correct, taking the
above as the inside measurements, and π = 3.14.

60° with scale factor 4:5.

Q.27. A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing at the top of the
tower observes a car as an angle of depression of 30°, which is approaching the foot
of the tower with a uniform speed. Six seconds later, the angle of depression of the
car is found to be 60°. Find the time taken by the car to reach the foot of the tower
from this point.
