Quicker to move,
adaptable on site.
The advantages of compact, well-planned design are evident in the ease with which H cranes can be moved from one site to the
next. Using the high-speed axle, speeds of up to 80 km/h are permissible on motorways and similar high-speed roads. Depending
on size, the crane can be moved on public roads as a 2-axle trailer with complete or partial ballast. The 13 H and 20 H travel with Standardised axle and adapter connections mean that all Liebherr road-

vehicle. The rear axle can remain attached to the crane during operation. As is customary with Liebherr’s cranes, the H models have
a special General Operating Permit (German ABE).
A ballasting system is available as an optional extra. Instead of the conventional ballast blocks with suspension eyes, self-centering
ballast slabs or a semi-automatic ballasting device are available. Ballast can be picked up at any point on the crane’s slewing circle,
up to a maximum radius of 4.0 metres.
If headroom is extremely limited, the jib end of H cranes used with cast ballast
blocks can be folded away to one side to reduce the transport height.

HC-L cranes.
Technology for the future.
The HC-L series with
level luffing.
The HC-L series of luffing jib cranes developed by Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH sets new standards. The latest
HC-L generation features pioneering technology with level luffing for a horizontal load path.
Programmable logic controller (PLC) enables a luffing jib crane to perform a horizontal load movement similar to that
of a top-slewing crane with a trolley jib.

jib crane to perform a horizontal load movement simi-
lar to that of a top-slewing crane with a trolley jib. This
is an entirely new overall technological concept.

2High handling capacity.
High-performance drives.
Liebherr luffing jib cranes are equipped with high-performance drives that guarantee maximum handling capacities and
boost profitability. HC-L cranes are equipped with the very latest Liebherr-built hoist, luffing and slewing gear drives. All
cranes with a level luffing function are fitted with infinitely variable frequency-controlled drives.
FC slewing gear.
The new FC slewing gear drive enables the crane to be slewed at micro speeds without jerks or jolts, and also detects and
suppresses wind and load influences. The control unit matches slewing gear drive torque automatically to the jib position.
The integrated anti-sway function identifies and prevents crane vibration and load swing.
Rapid re-reeving.
Straightforward re-reeving of the hook from single- to double-reeved operation allows
HC-L cranes to be adapted efficiently and quickly to construction site conditions and
maintains their high handling performance. A version for single-reeved hook opera-
tion only is available as an option.

details.
Easy-assembly transport units.
HC-L cranes employ a modular system for assembly in real-life
situations. The slewing platform can be broken down into sepa-
rate parts, each of them easy to erect. The cab platform with the
crane cab can be bolted on or detached separately.
Pre-installed plug connections for rapid start-up. Separate slewing platform elements for assembly and dismantling at great heights.

4 The IC tower
system.
Climbing inside buildings.
The Internal Climbing (IC) tower system was developed specifically
for lift shafts of limited size. The tower has overall dimensions of just
1.9 m x 1.9 m and is therefore suitable for the narrowest of lift shafts.
To save space and to protect the assembly, the entire climbing hydraulics
are located inside the tower section, with everything designed to keep
the tower’s external dimensions as low as possible.
Particular attention has also been paid to easy handling of the guide frames.
Special tower sections are used at the clamping points. The tower sec-
tions need no additional reinforcement.

using the erecting winch. The tower is locked to and released from
the slewing platform semi-automatically, using the Quick Connection
system. Only a wedge is used to secure the taper pins. The inner tower
is locked fully automatically to the outer tower. The 42 K.1 can be erec-

Only an extremely small space is required for aerial jib mounting without tower sec-
tions. The jib begins to unfold only above a height of 9.0 m.
The ingeniously planned erecting system incorporating the newly developed aerial
jib mounting concept reduces both setting-up time on the building site and person-
nel requirements, thereby significantly increasing profitability.

Straightforward ballasting.
Interaction of the hoisting and erecting winches ensures rapid and straightforward ballasting. The
erecting winch moves the tower to a very large working radius for ballasting. The ballast slabs are
positioned with the hoisting winch. The new semi-automatic ballasting device, in conjunction with
centring of the 32 TT ballast slabs, gives you discernable time advantages. The ballast slabs can be
lifted from all sides of the truck, with a working radius for ballasting of up to 5 m.
Operation of the semi-automatic ballasting tongs is remarkably simple. They are simply placed in
position on the ballast, released by hand, and the remainder of the process is automatic. Automatic
centring means that re-alignment of the individual ballast slabs is not required.
Ballast slabs from many Liebherr fast-erecting cranes can also be used with this crane – a further
benefit that helps to reduce crane fleet costs.
12 13
Quick climbing.
42 K.1 crane hook heights can be adapted to suit site requirements by inserting
three 2 m tower sections, thus enabling the 42 K.1 fast-erecting crane to reach hook
heights of 22.0 m, 24.0 m and 26.0 m.
The tower sections are inserted from below by means of the quick climbing device.
The tower section is bolted to the inner tower and telescoped upwards using the
erecting hook block.
To minimise costs in the crane park, tower sections from 35 K and 40 K models can
also be used with the new 42 K.1 fast-erecting crane: an additional building block
in Liebherr’s modular system.

Double telescoping action.
Both the tower and the jib of the 32 TT fast-
erecting crane can be extended and re-
tracted telescopically and varied in length
to suit every on-site operating situation.
2
Adaptability means cost effectiveness.
Due to its combination of telescopic jib and
tower and the adaptability with several load
curves, the TT crane guarantees an exceptional
versatility. It can be adapted precisely to indi-
vidual operating situations as well as to the progress of work
on the construction site. With the crawler tracks of the 32 TTR,
rapid relocation from one site to another with full ballast causes
no problems.
3
Unbelievably easy to erect.
The TT crane is not only compact to move
from site to site on the road, it can also be
erected extremely quickly. Its ingenious
erecting linkage lifts the crane on the sup-
port spindles automatically. One person can prepare the
TT crane for operation within about 30 minutes.
4
Powerful drives manu-
factured by Liebherr.
All drives are developed and
produced at the Liebherr
plant in Biberach. They have
been specially designed for crane use and
guarantee a long service life.
1 Double
telescoping action.
2 Adaptability means
cost effectiveness.
The innovative 32 TT design principle makes this crane exceptionally versatile. For use on
difficult terrain, this crane is also available on crawler tracks as 32 TTR providing you with
a wealth of benefits on the building site. The 32 TTR with crawler-track undercarriage is
noted for its outstanding mobility and therefore its exceptional economy. Soil pressure is
only 12 N/sq. cm in transport position and 21 N/sq. cm in service. Maximum travel speed
is 25 m/min with a drive rating of 22 kW.
With the tower retracted, this crane is ready for operation immediately after erecting.
The 32 TT standard crane equipped with its road axles can also be run into extremely
narrow gaps between buildings, with the tower either fully erected or half-erected. This
simplifies work on the building site immensely and can save a lot of time in many
operating situations.
Compact design, quick and easy movement. Obstructions are no problem for the 32 TT. 32 TTR on crawler-track undercarriage flexibly used on the construction of a bridge.
3 Unbelievably
easy to erect.
Erecting is so simple.
The TT crane can be erected quickly and easily from the trans-
port position. The erecting linkage is operated conveniently from
the control panel, and the TT crane unfolds automatically.
The TT crane uses its erecting winch and two double guide arms
to reach the vertical position – a completely new sequence of
erecting movements. When the tower is erected – but not yet
extended telescopically – the jib has already moved out to the
working position.
4 Powerful drive

Hoisting and erecting winches.
The hoisting and erecting winches have separate drives. As an optional extra, a
hoist gear with frequency converter is available for continuous speed control be-
tween 0 and 50 m/min.

Program-controlled one-man erecting.
The entire erecting procedure is fully program-controlled. The
desired hook height is preselected, and the entire process of
erecting the crane is then carried out and monitored automati-
cally. Only one radio remote control lever needs to be operated.
The MK 100 mobile construction crane is extremely stable in ac-
cordance with DIN 15019, and does not need to be disassembled when it is not
in operation and the jib is horizontal. The crane is suitable for operation at wind
speeds of up to 20 metres per second.
3
Comfort, convenience
and high functional efficiency.
Both the modern driver‘s cabin and the variable-height lift cabin
satisfy the latest ergonomic design requirements. High levels of
functionality and comfort create perfect conditions for concen-
trated, safe working. All the controls are laid out ergonomically,
for safe and efficient operation even in continuous use. The steplessly adjustable
lift cabin offers a perfect view of the load.
4
Quality – down to the smallest detail.
Many of the individual components of this mobile construction
crane have been specially designed for construction-site appli-
cations. Switchgear cabinet, winches, drives, slewing connec-
tion and controls have all been developed and manufactured by
Liebherr. These in-house components are of advanced techni-
cal design and high quality combined with utmost benefits for
the user.

The MK 100 mobile construction crane travels fully equipped with tower, jib, complete ballast, electri-
cal generator and variable-height lift cabin. When ready for transport, the crane is only 16.65 m long,
with a width of 3.0 m and a height of 4.0 m. It is not necessary to carry additional ballast.

Other benefits: the automatic anti-lock system (ABV) enhances driving safety, the anti-slip
regulation system (ASR) prevents the wheels from losing traction when the crane pulls away
from a standstill. An Intarder is also standard equipment.
NIVEAUMATIC suspension.
The NIVEAUMATIC suspension system protects both the crane and the road surface. Cross-
connection of the hydro-pneumatic suspension units guarantees stability when cornering.
The vehicle’s ride height can be automatically adjusted from any position to the target level at
a pushbutton in the driver‘s cabin. Suspension travel of plus/minus 100 mm is available.

2 Program-controlled
one-man erecting.
The MK 100 mobile construction crane is designed for one-man erecting at the push of a button. It
can travel in the erected position. Depending on the chosen application, 3 different crane erecting
curves are available. The desired hook height is preselected, and the entire program-controlled
crane erecting process then takes place and is automatically monitored. The time needed for
erecting the crane completely is only about 15 minutes.
The new torsionally rigid, solid walled tower with two-stage telescoping action provides hook
heights of 25.0 m and 33.0 m with the jib horizontal or 54.0 m and 58.0 m when it is raised to
a 30° angle.
The new erecting system reduces loads on the sliding guides of the telescopically
extending tower. The system needs very little maintenance and guarantees a long
service life.
The jib can be moved from its horizontal position to the 30° raised posi-
tion within two minutes if required.

3 Comfort, conven-
ience and high
functional efficiency.
The modern driver’s cab.
The modern driver’s cab is a highly functional unit with a clear and unobstructed view of the road,
an excellent level of comfort and thoroughly impressive design. Hydraulic damping, internal trim
panels for noise and heat insulation and pneumatically sprung, continuously adjustable seats are
all standard features of this new mobile construction crane. All the controls are arranged in an er-
gonomic layout, for safe, convenient operation even during lengthy working periods. Other comfort
benefits include safety glass all around, heated and electrically adjustable outside mirrors, seat
belts for driver and passenger, preparation for radio installation and various stowage shelves and
compartments.

4 Quality – down to
the smallest detail.
Components of Liebherr’s own manufacture, including the switchgear cabinet, winches, drives and slewing
connection, are perfectly matched to construction-site requirements.
1
1 Switchgear cabinet.
The decentral control technology and the frequency converters for the stepless drives used throughout are
linked via CAN BUS to the switchgear cabinet. This technology increases functional efficiency and cost ef-
fectiveness even further, as well as offering benefits in terms of ease of maintenance and diagnostic capabili-
ties.
4 Electrical distribution.
The MK 100’s highly versatile electrical power supply system has
fault-current protection. The following connecting options are provid-
ed: three earthed power sockets, two 16 A connections and one 32 A
connection.

Powerful stepless
FC drives.
All drive systems are integrated into the superstructure. The drives for the hoisting, erecting and trolley
travel gear, jib guying winch and slewing gear are all supplied from frequency converters (FC) so that
full stepless speed control is possible. High-performance winches manufactured by Liebherr handle
the loads with precision. They have been specially designed for crane use and tested under harsh
endurance-test conditions.
High-performance
FC hoisting winch.
The frequency converter controlled high-perform-
ance hoisting winch provides an exceptionally
broad range of speeds and performance levels.
This enables the crane both to lift its maximum
load at the hook, but also to achieve high off-load
hook speeds.
FC slewing gear.
The FC slewing gear drive permits totally jerk and
judder-free slewing movement, with micro-speeds
available. Electronic wind load regulation detects
and suppresses wind and load influences. The au-
tomatic load vibration damping system identifies
and prevents vibration in the crane and oscillation
of the load. Counter-current can be applied in ab-
solute safety.
Liebherr’s own high-performance winches. The drive assemblies are easily accessible for servicing. The MK 100 has stepless trolley travel speeds. All loads are
lifted in the double-reeved mode.

The large EC-B cranes.
Five large, Litronic EC-B Flat-Top cranes guar-
antee up to 20 % greater load capacities at the
touch of a button and ensure excellent mate-
rial-handling on your construction site.
High hook heights and large load capacities are the large
EC-B Flat-Top cranes’ specialisations. The compact head on
these cranes contains the entire switchgear, the slewing ring
support, the movable comfort cab, the slewing gear and the
fold-out frame.
3
Completely new jib technology.
The EC-B jib sections are tight-welded. Inter-
nal rust and corrosion don’t stand a chance.
The EC-B crane LiConnect quick jib connec-
tion system has been designed from scratch
and patented. With the help of LiConnect, the jib sections are
quick, safe and easy to fasten in place.
4
Liebherr high-performance drive units.
All drives used on the EC-B Flat-Top cranes
were developed and even manufactured at the
Liebherr Group’s own competence centre for
drive technology in Biberach. These intelligent
drives offer excellent operating safety and are uncompromis-
ingly efficient. High-performance drive units from Liebherr lead
to significant increases in material handling output. Whether
one-speed or two-speed FC hoist gear, FC or EDC slewing gear
or FC trolley travel gear, we have the right drive for every job.
2 3
1 The small and
medium-sized EC-B cranes.
These Liebherr cranes are characterised by their quick, easy assembly. The compact head is mounted by an
auto crane in a single lift. All drive pedestals and rails are zinc-coated and designed to last. All drives are easy
and safe to reach for maintenance work straight from the compact head.
The newly designed comfort cab is attached and removed by means of quick-release fastenings and is iden-
tical for all small and medium-sized EC-B cranes. This cuts crane fleet costs. The cranes are used in either
2-fall or 2/4-fall mode, or exclusively in 2-fall where the FR.tronic version is concerned.
4 5
Connect and Work.
Quick assembly.
Preassembly of the newly designed counter-jib is carried out in just a few ma-
noeuvres on the ground. The rails have a fold-out design, meaning once unfolded
all rails are fully attached. Assembly has also been simplified by means of fold-
out assembly supports for use in positioning the counter-jib guying sys-
tem. The guy rods are in the exact assembly position.
The compact head is put in place by an auto crane in a
single lift. This compact head is delivered pre-installed.
Only a few plug connections are needed to complete
the electric installation. Pin magazines are positioned
within easy reach. As soon as the compact head has
been positioned on the tower, it can be slewed
into the perfect assembly line.
Fold-out rails for minimal preparatory work. Rapid pinning of the counter-jib guying systems.

Sophisticated
assembly technology.
An important feature of EC-B Flat-Top cranes is the emphasis placed
on quick and easy assembly during their construction: exact positioning
of the counter-jib guying system, preset lifting tabs for the auto-crane
hoist and slots for the jib and counter-jib connections. New quick-release
fastenings also make pinning the jib and counter-jib considerably easier.
The counterweights for EC-B cranes of up to 130 mt are all identical.
Having reduced the weight of individual package units, small, cost-effec-
tive mobile cranes can be used for assembly.

Crane operation
with cab or without:
You choose.
Crane operators have the choice between operating the crane with all its func-
tions with the cab or without. The wiring is plugged in in just a few moves. The
new cab, mounted outside the tower with quick-release fastenings, is the same
for cranes of type 50 EC-B 5 to 130 EC-B 6 and can thus be fitted to any EC-B
crane in this size category. These cranes can easily be operated using radio
remote control too, with acknowledgement of the crane parameters.
An electronic monitoring system (EMS) is available as an option when equip-
ping the FR.tronic crane. The following electronic modules are easily extended:
load-moment limitation (LMB), work-area limitation (ABB), machine data analy-
sis (MDA), anti-collision system (AKS) and remote data transmission (DFÜ).
The clearly and ergonomically designed crane cab. All crane data visible.
10 11
2 The large
EC-B cranes.
The large EC-B cranes set standards on the market for Flat-Top cranes: the compact head forms
a central unit which is mounted in a single lift. These cranes offer well-staggered working radii up
to 75 m and maximum load capacities of up to 12 t. All drives are stepless.
The large EC-B cranes are available exclusively in the Litronic version. Litronic cranes provide
20 % greater load capacities at the touch of a button. The Litronic control system incorporates
the load-moment limitation system (LMB), the work-area limitation system (ABB) and the ma-
chine data analysis system (MDA). The anti-collision system (AKS) and remote data transmission
are optional extras. All assemblies come pre-installed.
12 13
The compact head.
The central feature in the EC-B series is the newly developed compact head. The com-
plete unit contains movable cab, switchgear cabinet, fold-out frame, slewing gear, slew-
ing ring with slewing ring support and current collector. The electrics are soon con-
nected by means of just a few plugs. Just one central switchgear cabinet is integrated
into the compact head for the whole crane. Maintenance work is easy and safe to carry
out. The compact head of the EC-B cranes leaves the factory completely pre-installed.
The compact head can be transported in a standard truck and mounted by an auto crane
in a single lift, with no intermediate hanging. The fold-out frame and the counter-jib guying
system are simultaneously moved into assembly position, ready for operation. For use on
construction sites, the comfort cab is simply shunted forwards. Connect and Work.
Assembly-friendly transport.
For efficient transportation, the counter-jib is loaded using a piggyback system. Again, the
rear part of the counter-jib is pinned directly to the rest of the counter-jib from in the truck.
The compact head is transported upright in the truck. The entire EC-B series is laid out in
standard 40‘ containers for loading. The entire upper part of the 280 EC-B 12 Litronic crane
can be transported at maximum radius in four standard 40‘ containers.

consumption also has a noticeably positive effect on operating costs. travel gear offers excellent performance ranges and high trolley travel speeds, espe-
cially under load.
The FC hoist gear.
When selecting hoist gear drives, you have a choice between one-speed and two-speed
frequency controlled high-performance drives. They come with different capacities depend-
ing on operations. The greatest advantages they offer include automatic load detection,
micro-speed travel, use of the entire control-lever travel range and load retention without
application of the hoist gear brake. The load is delicately positioned at the touch of a button
on the control panel.
These drives make safe command and optimal control of the crane really easy.
