Fade from black to LS Zoom The 2nd Amendment of the Constitution

states, “A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear
Arms, shall not be infringed”

However, this amendment has been a

heated debate since people believe the
2nd amendment, and the right to bear
arms, is what defines the American
Experience.

During the Revolutionary War and

throughout the 1700s, militias having
access to guns is what kept many
Americans safe. Although there are no
longer organized militias, there are more
gun varieties that people can have access
to and about 42% of Americans say that
there is a gun in their home. The lack of a
“well-regulated militia” and the access to
military grade firearms is the reason why
many are debating the 2nd amendment as
to whether or not it is relevant in the 21st
century. In recent years, politicians have
taken this topic to the floor of the U.S.
House.

the Second Amendment. Gaining the
attention of not only politicians, but also
celebrities, the common American
household, and citizens of other
countries. Fundamental reasons have
come up on both sides of the argument
but as a country, we have yet come to a
decision on what will resolve this issue.

answers ranged from being against, being
