As years pass and trends come and go, the Styles of the Time
change with them. "My friends try to imitate my style ," says Sophomore
Logan Bradley. As each class graduates, their unique styles are soon

L
copied by the underclassmen until they create their own. We often
emulate those we respect and admire. It's hard to step out of our
friends' shadow to establish our own style , but that is how new trends
are made. This is the time to find ourselves in the best time of our lives.
Finding things to irritate our parents always seem in style.
Listening to loud music, staying out late, and wanting the most

E expensive clothes are some of these. We find that trends change with
time by skimming our parents yearbooks. They never thought their retro
trends would go out of style. We feel the same today although many
fashions reoccur. "If you look good and feel good while having fun, to
me that's style, " states Senior Austin Hamilton. However, style is

S much more than fashion or looks, it's how we express ourselves and our
personality, which is sometimes overlooked . Showing your true
personality and trusting in your beliefs will continue being a style of our
time.

Feature Story by Cassie Drown

Shellie Acreback Kim Alberson

Since the first day of your
kindergarten year you imagined the day you
would graduate, and thought to yourself, "It's
too far away, it will never come. " But the thirteen
years flew by so fast that senioritis slapped you
right in the face. You were left with many
decisions that you had to make, and a very
short time to make them. You were filled with
excitment, anxiousness, and fear all together.
You spent your last few months trying to
capture as many memories as you could. You Paul Baird
were busy taking pictures , making video tapes,
and filling out your senior books , hoping that
you would remember the smallest details of your
senior year.
The time came to say goodbye. Time
will now challenge our futures and friendships.

SENIOR TRIP 35
With thirteen years of school behind us, we are all about to venture into an
unknozvn world, and face many unknown challenges. The many friendships
that zve have formed during our time here at Buffalo High School will always be
held close. Even though we won't all be together, in our hearts we'll know that
those friendships will be held our strong bond that we have formed. Some leave
here with a sense of sadness, and fear. Others on the other hand, leave zvith
complete joy and relief that they actually made it to this point. Either way, we
all leave here knowing that we've achieved something very special, and we've
achieved it together.

relief he is feeling to finally be

For Juniors high school is almost over; this means

many things to look forward to next year- senior trip,
graduation, and much more. This also means many
decisions must be made - most importantly,
"What do I do after high school?"
It also means that it's almost time to grow up and
face the "real world." However, there is still a little
time left for memories to be made with old friends.

For Freshman this was a big year, they were

finally in high school. During this year, they
would face multiple hurdles, and earn new
privileges. Many of these privileges included
getting driving permits and a later curfew.
Freshmen started the year a little awkward, but
now with a year of high school behind them,
their experiences will surely give them ...
times to remember.

Layout and story: Jessica Sergent _

Activities are a big part of a

high school student's life. Many
get involved to have something to
do, but for some, activities become
a major part of their lives. Some get
so involved that they feel like they
never have a spare minute, while Jeremy Sladek, Joey Green, Brynn Hammond,
others are only slightly involved. Keith Schnakenberg , Sharla Moore, and Mary
Oglesbee relax at the N.F.L. Tournament.
Activities are one of the main
places memories are made: the
late night bus rides home from a
competition, the awards won, the
many early meetings and practices.
The time spent in these events
brought tears and joy into our
lives. These activities will still be
remembered with the passage of
time.

C.O.C CHAMPS!
DISTRICT CHAMPS!
The 2000 Buffalo Bison Football team accomplished much more then they
expected to this year. Their rough start gave them reasons to work hard and show
everyone, especially themselves, that they could turn their season around. Their first
two wins against Springfield Central and Rogersville, (which was Homecoming), gave
them confidence going into district playoffs. The Bison went undefeated in District play
this year. They came out with HUGE victories over Marshfield, Reed Springs, Aurora,
and Bolivar.
One of the most memorable games for the Bison this year was against Aurora, the
former 3A State Champions. The Bison were Behind 6-13 at halftime. They worked
together in the second half and were able to come through with the victory. The final
score, 26-13, left them with the District 10 Championship Title! The Bison broke the
Hound Dawgs 23 game winning streak. They competed very well in the sectional game
against Marshfield, but fell short. The Bison finished their season with an outstanding
record of 6-4.
This was a year of firsts. Thanks to the coaches and the senior leadership, the
Bison were able to overcome all the obstacles this season had brought. They definitely
have a reason to be proud- This was their time to Shine!!

With only two returning starters and a new

coaching staff, the 2000-2001 boys basketball season
certainly had its ups and downs, but the team had a
lot of success to show from it. Competing in three
invitational tournaments, the Buffalo Bison proudly
brought home two third place trophies and tied a record
in the third tournament. The team also won two
memorable games by last second buzzer beaters.
Although the team had many challenges they stepped
up and handled them with confidence and team work.
Their efforts resulted in a great season.

The 2001 Buffalo Bison
had an impressive season filled with
quality pitching and excellent slugging.
Several younger players stepped up to
fill lead roles on an already stellar squad.
This unique combination led to an
intensly competitive season and
a run for the district title. New
friendships were made and alliances
formed as the team gelled under the
guidance of Coaches Brad Roweton,
Ryan Edwards and Jeremy~~~~
Brownfield. This
experience will lead
the team for years
to come.

The Bison Golf season was in full swing by the end of February. The six returning lettermen
were joined by six newcomers all competing to make varsity. The competition began with a win
against Nixa at Hidden Valley. Four-year letterman Justin Boulware was the individual medalist
several times while lurking in the top ten at nearly every tournament. Freshmen Anthony Lane
carded a fourth place finish at the Waynesville Tournament. Seniors Doug Maack and Steven
Dickerson played well on Varsity all season. Sophomore Robert Bright and Senior Jarod
Campbell stepped up and competed hardwith. Junior Zac McMillan played with gusto.
Everyone forged ahead to compete and improve as a player. The season took dedication with 6
tournaments and 6 matches consuming much of the players time. Overall, the 2001 season was
marked excellent senior leadership and the addition of quality underclassmen play.

Closing
The year has come to an end and for many, their high school days
have come to an end. As we move into a new era, we will not
forget the times that we spent here. The memories, good and bad,
will not be forgotten. Many will go on to college or careers, while
others will advance to the next grade of high school. Seniors,
while overjoyed to leave still feel a sadness to part ways with
longtime friends that have shared in their lives since kindergarten.
They will go their seperate ways but the bond that kept them so
clo e for the past 13 years will never be broken. As we move on
to the next phase of our life, we take a moment to look back on
the memories made and the times shared.
