2019 Fruit Tree Sale

sponsored by Ironwood Property Maintenance, Millbrook Ontario

Welcome to the 3nd annual Spring Fruit Tree sale. The order for this season is required by Feb 28/19 to
ensure availability. The best value for trees is 20mm thick and bare root (br) meaning, no soil attached to
the root zone. This will give you about a 6-7 foot tall tree that will quickly produce additional root mass if
planted and cared for correctly. This option is much cheaper than potted trees and much lighter and easier
to transport. Planting immediately after you pick up is essential for best results.

There are a few things about the price list: you’ll notice a “Zone ” rating beside the trees, we are generally
Zone 5 so keep your choices to zone 5 or lower (ie 4, 3 etc.) In some cases you’ll see something like (5m
x 5m) which indicates how high and wide the tree will be at maturity. (Helpful when finding a planting
spot with enough room). Some fruit varieties are self- pollinating but they will benefit from cross-
pollination if you plant two varieties (two cultivars) close to each other (25 feet spacing). Plant in full sun
if possible.

Be advised, there are a limited number of trees available and it’s a first come first serve basis. So, they
may not have your exact choice. Sometimes they can offer a reasonable substitute of the same species.
When sending me your order by e-mail Also, please list it as follows:

# of trees, species, size, unit price and total cost (HST is applicable on totals)
Example: 1 Cortland apple tree 20 mm br $$ - total $$
2 Idared apple trees 20 mm br $$ - total $$ (and so on)
Grand Total = $$ + HST

A deposit of ½ the total amount or payment in full if you prefer is required to place an order. I’ll make up
an excel sheet so I can keep track of things. I can give you a receipt if necessary or a refund if they are out
of stock for what you’ve selected. E-funds transfer is the easiest way to hold your order, sent to my email
at seangillen@nexicom.net with the password delicious. Also, if you could include a contact number
and general location (Millbrook, Cavan etc.) that would be helpful. I’ll pick the order up at the end of
April or early May (weather dependent) and notify you when to come to pick up your trees.

I can plant the trees for you as well if you prefer. This includes fertilizing with bone-meal, watering in,
staking, and some mulch. Price TBD based on size and number etc. If you’d like to plant yourself that’s
great too. I’ll give you some tips that’ll help you along.

Thanks very much

Sincerely

Sean Gillen
