I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:


1. Determined the importance of Plating and Presentation in Meat Dishes.
2. Demonstrate the preparation of Plating and Presentation of Meat dishes in the class.
3. Apply the basic elements of Plating in the preparation of Plating meat dishes.

II. Subject Matter

TOPIC: Plate/Present Meat Dishes


REFERENCE: K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum Technology and Livelihood
Education Learning Module (Cookery) P. 365-366)
Instructional Materials: laptop, visual aids, garnishing tools, cutting tools, plates,
vegetables.

B. REVIEW

Class before we start our new lesson let us


recall the last topic we discussed
yesterday.

What is the topic we discussed yesterday? (Students will raise their hands)

and Present Meat dishes.

I told you class that, in Plating you have to


remember always the basic elements
because it is the most important to
achieve your goal in preparing and
decorating your foods and make it more
attractive. Right class? Yes Ma’am.

So now, what are the Basic elements we


need to consider in Plating?
( Students raise their hands)
Give me one, Yes _________? The first element we need to consider is the
Emphasis.

Then, what else? Yes_________? Next is Balance.

Okay, very good!


Why balance is important? To make more attractive the orientation of the
decorating ingredients should be balance in
the plate.
Amazing!

Next element, Yes __________? Contrast.

So, why Contrast is important in Plating? The contrasting shapes and colors in the plate
give visual appeals to the eye.

Excellent!

Okay, so what’s next?


___________Yes? The Color.

Color is important, why? Because color give life to the food and make it
Yes________? more attractive.

Very good!

What else?
Yes_________? Texture.

What about the texture? The texture should be visible in the


components of the plate.

That’s good.

Next? Yes _______? Simplicity.

Very Good!

So what about simplicity? Simple arrangement to highlight the main


ingredients.
That’s good.

And the last one? Yes _______? The Plate.


Okay very good, The plate must be what?

Yes_________? It should be fits the sixe and arrangement of


the dish without leaving to much empty space
of the plate.

making the preparation of Plating meat dishes.

 MOTIVATION
First I want you to make a group yell for
your group identification.
Now, I will group you into five (5) groups, each
group have their respective leaders who will
go to pick your assigned ingredients inside the
box here in front.
Those ingredients that you picked will
serve as your main ingredients to create or to
make your group yell.
For example, if you picked the
ingredients “tomatoes”, you can use the word
tomatoes to construct a song or lyrics.

Is it clear class? Yes Ma’am.

Any question? None Ma’am.

Okay, you may start now. You have only 5


minutes to make your group yell. Yes Ma’am.

Are you done class? Yes Ma’am.

So Group 1, will you present to us your group (Group 1 will present)

How about the Group 2? (Group 2 will present)

How about the group 3? ( Group 3 will present)

Group 4? ( Group 4 will present )

And the last Group? (Group 5 will present)

Okay class good job. Give yourself a ten clap. (Students will do the 10 clap)
Now, you are going to use your group yell in
your activity today.

As you can see, what do you think what will (students raise their hands)
be our activity today? It’s about Plating.

You are going to prepare a Plating and


Presentation of meat dishes today.

Your group yell will serve as your indicator


that your group is already done to your task.

Okay class, you may now proceed to your


designated table. As you can see, each table
has a group number.

These are the Instructions. INSTRUCTIONS:


Kindly read.  With your group mates, you will do the
Plating and Presentation of your
assigned meat dishes.
 Each group will participate in
preparing the Plating and Presentation.
 After the preparation, your teacher
will evaluate your performance as well
as your output.
 You have 15 minutes to do the task.

Okay class, is there any question? None Ma’am.

Let me remind you that you have a scoring for


grading your performance and your output.
Please be guided, class.

your task.

Analysis:

So class, what can you say about Plating and

It is exciting and fun to do because I like
decorating and designing especially in foods.
Okay thank you, so that’s good to hear that
you have an interest to our activity.
Abstraction:
How about the others, what do you think (Students will raise their hand)
is the importance of Plating and Presentation It has a bigger impact to us because food is
when it comes in our daily lives? our life and first thing that we used to do, is
we look always to its appearance, from that
we can say that it is delicious without even
taste it.
