as formas interrogativa e negativa.
ceiras pessoas do singular (he/she/it); o uso das partículas
auxiliares Do e Does, em frases negativas e interrogativas,
e Does, formas afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa e es-

Leia o texto abaixo.
Robert is a director at a multinational company. His
day begins at 7:00 when the alarm clock rings. But he
stays in bed and watches the news on television until
7:15. He hardly ever gets up straight away. He has a
shower and brushes his teeth. He gets dressed and
has breakfast.
When he gets to the office, he turns on the computer, reads e-mail and
starts work.
In the morning he has meetings, and takes calls from clients. He usually
has lunch at his desk, but sometimes he goes out with a client, or gives
a lunchtime presentation. In the afternoon he usually visits clients. He
leaves work around seven, but sometimes he goes to an evening meeting.
He rarely arrives home before 10 o’clock and he almost always has a busy
day, but he loves it.

Fundamentos
Simple Present: Negatives and Questions

Introduction
Nas formas negativa e interrogativa do Presente Simples, usamos o auxi-
liar “do” ou “does”. Esta página explica as regras.

1. Forming a negative

subject auxiliary example

I don’t I don’t sing

You don’t You don’t sing

He doesn’t He doesn’t sing

Inglês I  /  UA 08  Daily Routine II 4

subject auxiliary example

She doesn’t She doesn’t sing

It doesn’t It doesn’t sing

We don’t We don’t sing

They don’t They don’t sing

(he, she, it) levam “doesn’t”, os demais levam “don’t”.

2. Forming a yes/no question

ou ‘does’. Neste caso, o auxiliar é colocado antes do sujeito. Aqui estão as
regras:

auxiliary subject example

Do I Do I sing?

Do you Do you sing?

Does he Does he sing?

Does she Does she sing?

Does it Does it sing?

Do we Do we sing?

Do they Do they sing?

3. Forming a WH- question

WH-, por exemplo, What, When e Where) também são feitas usando o
auxiliar antes do sujeito. Acrescenta-se o pronome interrogativo no início.
Aqui estão alguns exemplos:

statement yes/no question wh- question

I sing. Do I sing? What do I sing?

You fight. Do you fight? Why do you fight?

He lives Does he live? Where does he live?
