Jaywant Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (JSPM)
was established in 1998 with the objective of creating
centers of excellence for education in the field of
Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, Management,
Computers etc. This is by the vision of Prof. (Dr.) T. J.
Sawant, an Electrical Engineer who thinks that,
“Development of Techno – entrepreneurial society” is
the key to achieve VISION 2020 as perceived by our
Former President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
Prof. (Dr.) T. J. Sawant is strongly convinced that
establishment of excellent technical institutions is the
solution to the problem of development of techno-
economic society. Driven by a mission of providing an
excellent quality education JSPM has left no stone
unturned in setting up Educational Institutes at
Tathawade, Hadapsar, Wagholi, Bavdhan (Kd.), Narhe
and Barshi.
About ICOER
Imperial College of Engineering and Research
(ICOER) is a NAAC “A” Grade institute, established in
2006 on a 64-acre campus in the Wagholi suburbs of
Eastern Pune with a mission to impart high quality
education and training to create and develop technical
and business leaders who strive to improve the quality of
life. It runs four major disciplines of engineering viz.
Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics

About the Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is
one of the largest departments in the College of
Engineering at the Pune University, which enrolls more
than 360 undergraduate students every year. There are
80 dedicated faculty members.
The Mechanical Engineering Department
educates the engineers of tomorrow by integrating
classroom theory and practical hands-on projects, by
emphasizing the process of learning and critical
thinking, by conducting original research, and by
promoting professional relationships among the
university, the business community, and engineering
colleagues.
The Department organizes the workshops and
seminars on advance technology for the UG and PG
students.
Theme of Workshop
The workshop aims to acquaint with TRIBOLOGY
domain and its significance in the industry to the PG and
Ph. D. research scholars, so that they can use and apply
this knowledge to solve real life problems.
