A certified SAP Consultant in the SD (Sales and Distribution module), with experience of full
lifecycle system development; from Business Analyst, Training Consultant and Training Manager.
Mark has taught the SD curriculum for SAP UK Ltd to configuration consultants. Mark also has
experience of Plant Maintenance (PM) in the utilities and petroleum arena. These roles included
requirements analysis, through design and development to testing, delivery and training.
Possesses a high level of technical competency, gained in his business and IT experience; most
recently applied to the “logistics/supply chain management” arena.

CAREER TO DATE
Acquired 20 years of IT knowledge, Business Analysis and Training, predominantly in the areas of
ERP systems development, Databases and Flight simulation. He started his career in the Royal
Air Force working in Military simulation. After a career break to obtain his degree, moved into the
role of Software Engineer progressing to SAP IT Consultant. At this point Mark progressed into IT
training with SAP (UK) Ltd and then to develop his career further, moved onto LogicaCMG as an
SAP Logistics Training Manager/Consultant (SD/LE/MM/PM). Mark has been employed by SAP
as a contractor on several projects.

Corus - SAP Training Development - PM 2008


Training development role responsible for the development of training materials (presentations,
simulation scripting, help cards and training client data) to underpin training delivery for the initial
roll out of SAP for Plant Maintenance.

Shell - SAP Training Delivery and Training Supervision - SD/MD/PM 2007


Contracted on the Shell SAP (SERP and GSAP) implementation to train local trainers to deliver
SAP training to end users for Plant Maintenance (Master Data, Notifications, Work Orders,
Maintenance Plans) and Sales and Distribution (SCM, Orders, Billing and Invoicing). The role
included developing training data and transactional data to facilitate local trainer training delivery
in locations such as Scotland, Netherlands, Denmark, Malaysia and Singapore. Also responsible
for training and supervision of the local training team in the skills required for SAP systems
delivery.

British Petroleum (via Accenture) - SAP Training Development - PM/BW 2007


Contracted to Accenture to work on the British Petroleum SAP implementation to develop SAP
training simulations for Plant Maintenance and Business Information Warehouse (using Business
Explorer).- The role included additional one-to-one training for existing team in development skills
using OnDemand.- Directly responsible for production of the training simulations for -Managing
the Turnaround Process- (effectively long term Maintenance Planning) and achieving sign-off
therein. Contract extended beyond original requirement

Northern Gas Networks – SAP Training and Business Analyst – PM (with BW) 2006
Contracted to United Utilities/Northern Gas Networks to analyse new business processes,
develop training materials, train the trainers and deliver training material to the business. Lead a
team of NGN employees with a specific concentration on maintenance items, planning and
scheduling and order creation and progression for the ongoing maintenance of the Gas network.
Additionally involved in identifying and developing business documentation to assist in the
utilisation of Business Information Warehouse. Produced training simulations using Macromedia
Captivate for online training.

University of Sheffield – SAP Configuration Support (Sales and Distribution) 2006
Employed by SAP (UK) Ltd on a short term (part time) contract to assist the SD configuration
consultant and offer support to the University of Sheffield ‘Order to Cash’ stream. This role
included identifying configuration ‘fixes’ as the outcome of Unit and Integration testing.
Additionally created functional specifications for interfaces to external accounting systems.

British Gas Business (Centrica) – SAP Training Analyst – IS-Utilities (Metering) 2005-2006
Employed by SAP (UK) Ltd to analyse new business processes and develop training
documentation SAP (UK) for one of their end clients following the implementation of SAP CRM
and SAP IS-U. Responsible for analysis and development of training materials specific to the
Metering and Device Management workstream.
 Responsible for performing Training Needs Analysis in line with the Training Strategy.
 Identify Training Course requirements (work instructions, simulations, end user training
documentation).
 Business Analysis to gain an understanding of the ‘As-Is’ and ‘To-Be’ business processes,
policies and procedures in accordance with industry regulations.
 Interrogation of Functional Specifications and configuration to determine training
requirements and understand system functionality.
Additionally my knowledge of SAP IS-U was utilised in assisting Integration Testing, providing
guidance and assistance in developing and subsequent approval of suitable ‘Test Cases’,

Employed directly by STT, as a contractor, to develop training material for the Internet based

British Nuclear Group – Contract Training Consultant – Logistics (SD/MM/WM) 2004-2005


Employed by SAP (UK) Ltd for a training consultancy contract responsible for identifying “Process
– end to end” training requirements for the Sales and Distribution module for British Nuclear
Group implementation. In addition to the design/development/delivery of training materials for SD
assisted in development of Accounts Receivable, Material Management (MM) and Warehousing
(WM) modules. Utilisation of InfoPak to produce training documentation. Additionally took on the
role of identifying data load requirements for training and developing the training
landscape/training client strategies.

Glasgow City Council – Contract Training Consultant – Logistics (SD) 2004


Training consultancy contract responsible for identifying training requirements for the Sales and
Distribution module (also included some MM Procurement) for local authority implementation. In
addition to the design/development/delivery of training materials, also responsible for training
internal personnel to deliver the training materials. Additionally took on the role of training systems
administrator responsible for training client strategies, included interfacing with the BASIS team.

SAP Training Manager and Consultant (SD/LE/PM - Logistics), LogicaCMG 2001 - 2004
Employed in the “Enterprise Solutions” as a Sales and Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution
(LE) Application Consultant and subsequently Training Manager. As a ‘Training Manager’ had
responsibility for the development of training strategies, training client architecture, production
and continuing development of Project Team and End user training materials. Skills as a
Management Consultant allied with business skills (to MBA level) have been utilised in the
following roles:
 Developed LogicaCMG training strategies and processes that have been subsequently
rolled out on Training Projects
 Training project management (from TNA - team building – delivery – post go live support)
