- Very good. A bridge is used to connect or

join one place to another place in order
for us to pass through or go to the places
that we want.

- Our lesson for today has something to

do with connecting or joining because
our lesson for today is about
COORDINATING CONJUNCTION.
D. ABSTRACTION
Teacher Student
Coordinating conjunctions connect
words, phrases, and clauses. The seven
coordinating conjunctions are:
F-for
A-an
N-nor
B- but
O-or
Y-yet
S-so

For - Explains reason or purpose (just like

“because”)
I go to the park every Sunday, for I love to watch
the ducks on the lake.

And - Adds one thing to another

I go to the park every Sunday to watch the ducks
on the lake and the soccer tournament.

NOR - is used for emphasis of the statement in

negative sentence. Used to present an
alternative negative idea to an already stated
negative idea
He is neither rich nor famous.

But- Shows contrast of idea between the first

clause and the second clause.
The soccer in the park is entertaining in the
winter, but it’s better in the heat of summer.

Or- Presents an alternative or a choice

We could go to the park or to the library.

Yet- Introduces a contrasting idea that follows

the preceding idea logically (similar to “but”)
I always take a book to read, yet I never seem to
turn a single page.

So - Indicates effect, result or consequence

now I have an excuse to watch the game each
week.
