A 10 cm arm will sweep out a complete circumference of 2(10)(pi)= 20(3.1415..)= 62.8 cm approximately. 10 cm is 10/62.8= 0.1592 or about 16% of the entire circle. Since a minute hand takes 60 minutes to sweep out a
complete circle, it will take about 16% of 60 minutes: 9.6 minutes.

Elementary. The minute arm will make a full turn in 60 minutes or 3600 seconds.
If you mean the distance on the perimeter; in one hour, the tip of a l = 10 cm long minute arm will cover the perimeter L of a cycle with radius R = 10 cm →
If you mean the distance from the initial position of the tip of the arm to the final position; then you have an equilateral triangle, and the angle between the initial position of the arm to the final will be 60 degrees, ie, a sixth of the
cycle equivalent of a sixth of the hour, , thus 10 minutes or 600 seconds.

There is a very simple approach to this problem. Assume the minute hand is the radius. Therefore the circumference of this clock circle is 20pi. Therefore the 10 cm distance traveled divided by the circumference is the
percentage of 1 hour it takes to cover those 10 cm. So (10/20pi)60 is your answer, approximately 9 1/2 minutes.

First find the the circumference which is 10 * 2pi = 20pi. So (10/20pi)60 is your answer, approximately 9 1/2 minutes.
