Daylight Analysis

High windows are provided for daylighting because they bring light deeper into the
interior and eliminate glare. Daylight simulation method was used to determine the
percentage of above-grade floor area with Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI). Daysim
software was used to calculate floor-wise area meeting UDI (100-2000 lux) for 90% of
the potential daylit time, 90% of the daylit hours are met by 8% of the spaces (table 1).
False colour UDI distribution output has been provided in Figure 1 and Figure 2
below.
