I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Describe how a specific idea or story is communicated through music in a particular
Philippine Musical theater.
b. Sing a selected song and perform it is a form of sarsuela.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
TOPIC: Sarsuela
REFERENCE: Music and Health pages: 127
MATERIALS: visual aids, picture, video clip and book
III. PROCEDURE
a. Preliminary

Checking of attendance
b. Motivation
Show a sample video performance of sarsuela.
c. Presentation
Present the topic to the students.
d. Discussion
Discuss the origin and how a specific idea or story is communicated through music in a
form of sarsuela.
e. Application
Group the class into four group and let them sing a selected song and perform it in a form
of sarsuela.
f. Generalization/ Evaluation
1-5. based on the discussion, what are the similar features of the Philippine Theatrical
forms discussed in the previous lesson?
