The purpose of this course is to understand how business processes
can be radically improved, dramatically reducing process cycle time
and cost, improving the quality of the process products or outcomes.
The strategy that will be followed is to emphasize challenges and
SUMMARY/ opportunities for BPR across the process life cycle using Electronic
OVERVIEW Commerce and Intranet and Extranet technologies. The focus will be
on understanding and applying knowledge-based concepts,
techniques, and tools for BPR centered on Electronic Commerce and
network information system applications. Enhancing quality
standards through process reengineering will also be addressed.
 To understand how organizations get work done using business
processes
 To understand how to model business processes

flows

participation in class is required for effective learning.
Evaluation will be made based on the students’ active
participation in the class room discussion, presentation and
assignment and marks will be awarded accordingly. The
classroom behavior, punctuality and discipline will also be
ASSESSMENT STRATEGY assessed for evaluation purposes.
The term project will be a key element of the assessment
strategy. Examinations will consist of problems and questions
that are new and not likely to have been discussed in class
sessions.
