Hosea Chapter 7 ���

� ‫הֹו‬
‫ �ו �נ���לה �� �ון‬,‫א ���ר�פ�אי �ל �י�ׂש�ר�אל‬ 1 when I would heal Israel, then is the
iniquity of Ephraim uncovered, and the
,‫��י �פ��לּו‬--‫�א�פ�ר �ים �ו�רעֹות �ׁש�מרֹון‬ wickedness of Samaria, for they
.‫ ���ׁשט �ּגדּוד �ּבחּוץ‬,‫�ׁש�קר; �ו���ּנב �יבֹוא‬ commit falsehood; and the thief
entereth in, and the troop of robbers
maketh a raid without.

,‫�ר���תם‬-‫ ��ל‬,‫ �ל�ל�ב�בם‬,‫י �א�מרּו‬-‫ב ּו�בל‬ 2 And let them not say to their heart--I
remember all their wickedness; now
‫ �נ��ד‬,‫�ז�כ �ר��י; ����ה �ס�בבּום �מ���ל�לי�הם‬ their own doings have beset them
.‫���ני �היּו‬ about, they are before My face.

;‫�מ�לְך‬-‫ �י�ׂש�ּמחּו‬,‫ג �ּב�ר���תם‬ 3 They make the king glad with their
wickedness, and the princes with their
.‫ �ׂש �רים‬,‫ּו�ב�כ�ח�ׁשי�הם‬ lies.

‫ �ּב���רה‬,‫��מֹו �תּנּור‬--‫ �מ�נ�א�פים‬,‫ד ���ּלם‬ 4 They are all adulterers, as an oven

heated by the baker, who ceaseth to
‫ �מּלּוׁש �ּב��ק‬,‫�מ�א�פה; �י�ׁשּבֹות �מ��יר‬ stir from the kneading of the dough
.‫�ח�מ��תֹו‬-‫��ד‬ until it be leavened.

‫ �ה�חלּו �ׂש �רים �ח�מת‬,‫ה יֹום �מ�ל��נּו‬ 5 On the day of our king the princes
make him sick with the heat of wine,
.‫ֹל����ים‬-‫ �את‬,‫�מ�� �ין; �מ�ׁשְך �ידֹו‬ he stretcheth out his hand with
scorners.

:‫ �ּב�א �ר�ּבם‬,‫�ק �רבּו �כ��ּנּור �ל�ּבם‬-‫ו ��י‬ 6 For they have made ready their heart
like an oven, while they lie in wait;
‫ הּוא‬,‫�ּב�קר‬--‫ �י�ׁשן �א�פ�הם‬,‫�ה�ּל �י�לה‬-‫��ל‬ their baker sleepeth all the night, in the
.‫�ב��ר ���אׁש �ל�ה�בה‬ morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

-‫ �ו�א�כלּו �את‬,‫ז ���ּלם �י�חּמּו ����ּנּור‬ 7 They are all hot as an oven, and
devour their judges; all their kings are
-‫ �אין‬,‫�מ�ל�כי�הם �נ�פלּו‬-‫�ׁש�פ�טי�הם; ��ל‬ fallen, there is none among them that
.‫�ק�רא �ב�הם �א�לי‬ calleth unto Me.

;‫ �ּב���ּמים הּוא �י�תּבֹו�לל‬,‫ח �א�פ�ר �ים‬ 8 Ephraim, he mixeth himself with the
peoples; Ephraim is become a cake not
.‫ �ּב�לי �הפּו�כה‬,‫�א�פ�ר �ים �ה�יה ����ה‬ turned.

;‫ �והּוא ל �א �י�דע‬,‫ט �א�כלּו �ז �רים ��חֹו‬ 9 Strangers have devoured his

strength, and he knoweth it not; yea,
.‫ �והּוא ל �א �י�דע‬,‫�ׂשי�בה �ז �ר�קה ּבֹו‬-‫�ּגם‬ gray hairs are here and there upon him,
and he knoweth it not.

-‫ �ּב�פ�ניו; �ול �א‬,‫ �י�ׂש�ר�אל‬-‫י �ו���נה ��אֹון‬ 10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to
his face; but they have not returned
‫ �ול �א �ב�ק�ׁשהּו‬,‫ �יה�וה �אֹל�הי�הם‬-‫�ׁשבּו �אל‬ unto the LORD their God, nor sought
.‫ז �את‬-‫�ּב�כל‬ Him, for all this.

‫ ��יֹו�נה פֹו�תה �אין‬,‫יא �ו �י�הי �א�פ�ר �ים‬ 11 And Ephraim is become like a silly
dove, without understanding; they call
.‫ �אּׁשּור �ה�לכּו‬,‫�לב; �מ���ר �ים �ק�ראּו‬ unto Egypt, they go to Assyria.

‫ �א�פרֹוׂש ���לי�הם‬,‫יב ���א�ׁשר �י�לכּו‬ 12 Even as they go, I will spread My

net upon them; I will bring them down
;‫ אֹו �רי�דם‬,‫��עֹוף �ה�ּׁש�מ �ים‬--‫�ר�ׁש��י‬ as the fowls of the heaven; I will
}‫ {ס‬.‫ ���ׁש�מע �ל���ד�תם‬,‫�א �י�סי�רם‬ chastise them, as their congregation
hath been made to hear. {S}

‫ �ׁשד‬,‫�נ�דדּו �מ�ּמ�ּני‬-‫יג אֹוי �ל�הם ��י‬ 13 Woe unto them! for they have
strayed from Me; Destruction unto
--‫�פ�ׁשעּו �בי; �ו�א �נ�כי �א�פ��ם‬-‫�ל�הם ��י‬ them! for they have transgressed
.‫ ���ּברּו ���לי ���ז�בים‬,‫�ו�ה�ּמה‬ against Me; Shall I then redeem them,
seeing they have spoken lies against
Me?

‫ ��י �י�י�לילּו‬,‫�ז��קּו �א�לי �ּב�ל�ּבם‬-‫יד �ול �א‬ 14 And they have not cried unto Me
with their heart, though they wail upon
‫����ן �ו�תירֹוׁש‬-‫�מ�ׁש��בֹו�תם; ��ל‬-‫��ל‬ their beds; they assemble themselves
.‫ �יסּורּו �בי‬,‫�י�תּגֹו�ררּו‬ for corn and wine, they rebel against
Me.

;‫ �ח���ק��י �זרֹו�ע�תם‬,‫טו �ו�א �ני �י�� �ר��י‬ 15 Though I have trained and
strengthened their arms, yet do they
.‫�רע‬-‫ �י�ח�ּׁשבּו‬,‫�ו�א�לי‬ devise evil against Me.

‫ �היּו ���ק�ׁשת‬,‫טז �יׁשּובּו ל �א ��ל‬ 16 They return, but not upwards; they
are become like a deceitful bow; their
‫ �מ����ם‬,‫ �י��לּו �ב�ח�רב �ׂש�רי�הם‬--‫�ר�מ��ה‬ princes shall fall by the sword for the
.‫ �ּב�א�רץ �מ���ר �ים‬,‫�לׁשֹו�נם; זֹו �ל���ּגם‬ rage of their tongue; this shall be their
derision in the land of Egypt.
