ear Parents and Community,
‘As you may have seen on the news, a sad tragedy occurred in northem Kent County this
afternoon. It is with extreme sorrow that I share with you that two of the children involved were
Tri County Area Schools elementary students. The two sisters, Cassidy and Kyrie Rodery sadly
died inthis incident. The sisters both enjoyed school and brought joy and big smiles with them
to school each day.
‘Cassidy was in frst grade at MacNaughton Elementary. Her teacher, Mrs. Kelley, stated she was
“fiend to everyone, a hard worker, and was always on task.” Kyrie who was a third grader at
Sand Lake Elementary, was sweet girl who enjoyed playing and being active, Her teacher, Mrs,
Schnepp, shared that Kyrie “loved to read, always volunteered to help others, her classmates,
loved her, and that she was a good fiend.”
“The distit’s crisis team members will be available for students, staff and parents at
MacNaughton and Sand Lake Elementary tomorrow morning. There willbe staff available to
‘meet with any middle school or high school students who need may assistance as wel.
‘We hurt and mourn with the loss ofthese precious students. Please keep the family and friends
in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
