Jaipur 1215 hrs Arrive and transfer to hotel.
PM City Tour of Jaipur -Visit ‘Hawa Mahal’
(Palace of Winds) an elaborate building
encrusted with delicate honeycomb
screens and carved balconies from
which the royal ladies, confined to their
quarters, could view the world outside.
Jai Singh’s Observatory built in the
17th century by the founder of Jaipur
who, besides being a prince was also
Soldier, astrono1mer and builder. City Palace, a part is now a museum that contains
fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, rare manuscripts and an armoury, old carpets, and
even amazingly embroidered clothes of the Maharajas and the Maharanis.

Day02 Jaipur Breakfast at hotel


AM Excursions to Amber fort - Just 7 miles
north of Jaipur is Amber with its a
honey-coloured fortress-palace in the
Aravalli Hills which can be mounted by
elephant (additional cost). It has
been described as “the sleeping beauty
of Rajasthan”. The sombre exterior
belies the richness of the royal apartments,
which open on to striking views of the gorge. It also possesses a Chamber of Mirrors.
The Hall of Victory presents a galaxy of decorative art - panels of alabaster with fine
inlay work of the tenderness hues.

Day03 Jaipur AM After breakfast, check out and depart


for Jodhpur by road which is
332kms/08hrs approx
Jodhpur PM Arrive and check in at the hotel
Jodhpur -This bustling desert city is the
second largest city in Rajasthan after
Jaipur and has landscape dominated by
the massive Meherangarh Fort topping a
sheer rocky ridge.

Day04 Jodhpur AM After early breakfast, checkout from the


hotel and Visit Jodhpur -393 feet above
the flat surrounding plain soars a bold
bluff on which was built the massive
‘Meherangarh’ (Majestic) Fort. Inside
the fort, there is a whole series of
courtyards and palaces. The fort also
houses some fine pieces of Rajput
miniature paintings, armoury, elephant
howdahs, and palanquins. On the
Meherangarh Fort rampart, stand cannons, of Gaj Singh. On
the road down from the Fort see Jaswant Thada, the blinding white marble cenotaph
(chhatri) of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and Clock Towers which stands in the city centre.
Take a glimpse of the famous Umaid Bhavan, which is converted into a Hotel but a
part of the palace is still a Royal Residence. It has a small personal collection of
authentic bone china crockery and antique watches.
Thereafter depart for Jaisalmer by road

Jaisalmer - Founded by Prince Jaisal in
1156, Jaisalmer grew to be a major
staging post on the trade route across
the forbidding Thar Desert from India to
the West. Set in a sea of golden tinged
sand, Sonar Kila, a golden fort rises out
of a rock of topaz. The entire living
area of Jaisalmer lies within the gigantic
citadel walls.

AM City tour of Jaisalmer - Visit the silent
12th century Fort built by Prince Jaisal
and the Palace. The uniqueness of this
fort is that it is the only ‘living fort’ in
Rajasthan – people still reside within the
fort walls. The fort stands at the highest
point (100 meters) above the
marketplace. Also visit the Jain
Temples (12th-15th centuries) which
lie within the fort complex. Some of
them have quaint but impressive figures

Day05 And black stone. Others have beautiful
images of deities, which indicate the
remarkable religious tolerance of that age. The famous art of the stone carvers of
Jaisalmer is evident in the elaborate facades of the yellow sandstone desert havelis
(mansions) which glow softly in honey tones. Visit intricately carved Havelis built by
Merchants; the largest and most elaborate of the famous havelis of Jaisalmer is Patwon
ki Haveli. Patwas were the merchants trading in rich brocades, gold and silver
embroidery, sequins and ribbons. This family eventually expanded their business to
include opium, banking and revenue collecting. A brief stop at Gadhi Sagar is a must –
a man made pond; a luxury in the centre of the Thar Desert!
PM Excursion Sam -42 kms of Jaisalmer a place
where one can experience the pace and
space of desert life. Ride to the smooth,
silky sands of Sam sand dunes where the
Raikas (camel drovers) travel with their
animals over vast distances and know every
waterhole and pasture in their region. They
are the best guides. The Raika is a
handsome, romantic figure, and in local
legends and folk songs, he is referred to as
the Messenger of love or the carrier of good or bad tidings. It is recommended that you
co-incide your visit by sunset- so you can enjoy a camel ride around the sand dunes by
sunset.

Day07 Jodhpur AM After early breakfast, depart for Udaipur


by road which is 259kms/6hrs approx
Enroute visit Ranekpur Temple -100 kms. From Udaipur, in a deep, secluded valley at
Ranekpur are the most magnificent Jain temples in India. It is an extensive complex
covering 3,600 sq. meters and has 29 halls with 1,444 pillars, each unlike the other,
intricately covered with delicate carvings. The main temple is Chaumukha Temple or
four-faced temple, dedicated to Adinath, the Revealer of Truth.

Udaipur Arrive and transfer to hotel


PM Boat ride on Lake Pichola - This Lake
takes its name from the small village of Picholi on its West Bank. In the lake are several
islands. On two of them the maharanas of Udaipur constructed pleasure palaces, the
Jag Mandir and the Jag Niwas (Subject to water level)

Day08 Udaipur Breakfast at hotel


AM City tour of Udaipur - Visit the City
Palace, once the home of Mewar’s
rulers, is today a museum. It consists
of several flawlessly integrated palaces,
which overlook the clear blue of Lake
Pichola. Visit Sahelion-ki-bari (Garden
of the Maids of Honour) the scene of
royal parties for centuries. Drive around
City Palace Fateh Sagar Lake excavated in the late
17th century by Maharaja Jai Singh and
past the Kala Mandir (Puppet Museum) and the Cenotaph of Maharana Pratap. And of
course last but not the last - the Jagdish temple. For those interests a visit to th e
crystal gallery inside Fateh Prakash Palace is a must - many exquisite crystal pieces
are on display - from entire dinning and drawing rooms sets to small object d’arts. Most
of them have never been used, as they arrived long after the person ordered them died,
or lost interest!
PM Visit Eklingji and Nagda -22 kms. North
east of Udaipur is the village of Kailashpuri known for its 108 temples surrounded by a
high-fortified wall. This 16th century complex is known as Sri Eklingji Temple dedicated
to Lord Shiva. The sanctum is of four-faced Shiva image of Black Marble. Close by is the
village of Nagda, which has three old temples, The Jain temple of Adbudji with its
interesting architecture the Sas Bahu or Mother and Daughter in Law temple which has
fine intricate architecture and carvings including some erotic figures.

hotel and transfer to Airport for your
destination flight.
