1. What is the level of attachment between
parents and VSP students?

 The most prominent is the Ambivalent
Attachment level which covered 60% of
the population.
 The Avoidant level covered 22% of the
senior high school students.
 A minority of participant (18%) are
Securely – Attached children. Secure
attachments are associated with
sensitive and responsive parenting.

 It was found that the most prominent
parenting style practiced by the
parents/guardians of the said students
is the Permissive Parenting Style (see
figure 2) with responds of 40%.
 The next one with the responds of 24%
is the Authoritarian Parenting which is
characterized by high demands and low
responsiveness.
 The next on line is the
Absent/Neglectful parenting with
responds of 20%.
 Lastly is the Authoritative parenting with
responds of 16%.
3. What is the percentage from the given
population of VSP students are
experiencing absent parenting from
their parents?
 The most interesting finding was that
only 20% of the VSP students were
experiencing absent parenting.
 We found out that Permissive parenting
style is the most prominent style
practiced by the parents/guardians of
the VSP students that is characterized
by high level of acceptance and a low
level of control.
  In addition, findings suggest that
Authoritarian parenting style also
contributes to the problematic behavior
of a child followed by Absent parenting
as third

 Authoritative parenting style is the least

possible contributor to bad behavior,
these parents are responsive to the
child’s emotional needs while having
high standards.

 Ambivalent attachment level is the most

noted to the VSP students.
 The research showed that only a small
number of students are having avoidant
attachments with their parents and even
smaller for secure attachments.

 further future research interconnected
or engaging with this topic should
consider the fact the there are cultural
differences of parents between
environment and other sociological
aspects that would be a factor of
change toward the attachment level
between child-parent relationship.
