Specific
Learning The goal is to give students the opportunity to reflect, depict, compose and express through art.
Outcomes:
 REFLECTION -responses to visual forms in nature, designed objects and artworks.
 PERCEPTION
- development of imagery based on observations of the visual world.
- lean about the elements of art such as color, shape and symmetry through the
stained glass visual.
 COMPOSITION
-organization of images and their qualities in the creation of unified statements.
- students will be able to openly express and share their works.
 EXPRESSION
- use of art materials as a vehicle or medium for saying something in a meaningful way.
- students will learn techniques ( such as basic cutting, and creating something
aesthetically) their stained glass window creation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Students will collaborate as a class community on the school tree an being apart of that community.
2. Students will experiment with colors and abstract creation ( the ornament).
3. Reflection component 3 APPRECIATION: students will appreciate artworks literally.

form dictates the way it is experienced

 Through class discussion
 The activity will show what they create and how well they follow instructions

Prior to the Lesson MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT


Prepped:  White glue Story
 Music pre assessed for appropriateness-  Balloons
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yyzt5NXL344  Yarn or other string to wrap the ballon
 Story book prepped for the end of the lesson if  string
there is extra time left.  Story book back up

PROCEDURE
Introduction Time

 Question and response discussion



Explain what it is with FUN FACTS: _20minutes

Body Time

 The teacher will introduce the art activity (Christmas ornament)


 Each student will have a container with white glue filled. Or they can share with a buddy.
 They will also be given string cut into and one small balloon blown up each.
 The goal is to dip the the string in the glue and wrap it around the balloon ( cut pieces of
string, but not too short hand length works easiest for this age group)
 Each student should make two ( if the balloons are small, if large they should make one)
 The balloons need to sit for a day or so before the balloon is popped.

 The teacher will talk through the steps with the students
 The teacher will have the students start their independent art activity and the teacher
will turn the music on for the class to calmly work on their art pieces.

Closure Time

 At this point if time left over, when the 30 minutes are done the teacher will have the
students clean and read or move on to the next lesson.
