Pan Gulf Industrial Systems spearheading growth

PGIS has a core strategy of using IT and the internet to create maximum awareness of its valve
proposition and proactively define its design, procurement and engineering expertise on global basis

PAN GULF Industrial Systems (PGIS) is pursuing an aggressive expansion programme both regionally and
internationally, according to Martin Snell, general manager of PGIS.

With decades-long engineering experience in the Middle East, Europe, North America and Australasia,
Snell is a seasoned veteran in professional systems integration for fire systems and security. As well as
global expansion, PGIS is also considering investment in manufacturing and fabrication as part of its total
technology solution according to Snell to meet the demands of its increasing global client base.

PGIS was formed to provide the Middle East with a professional systems integration company and as a
wholly owned subsidiary of Pan Gulf Holdings. The Pan Gulf Group has been leading the business world
in the Middle East for 30 years and is listed in the top 50 Saudi Companies.

PGIS continues to drive its business and its reputation by its commitment to enhancing its quality
services which includes ISO 9001: 2002 certification, together with a specialist services in design,
procurement, supply, installation and commissioning of the most complex fire protection, fire and gas
detection, instrumentation and security systems available today.

These integrated systems are state-of-the-art technological solutions specified for top international
companies and include world leaders in the manufacture of fire, security and instrumentation
equipments and systems involving technology partnerships of the highest level.

Snell is in positive mood as he helps spearhead the targeted expansion of the operational presence of
PGIS on a global basis which will take the company to the next level.

“PGIS is looking to expand geographically by providing the superior range of engineering and supply
services which have built our reputation in the Middle East. We are opening offices geographically
through a network of sales, engineering and project management operations that now includes
Thailand, Singapore, UK, China, Australia, India as well as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and later Qatar.
These international offices cover sales, engineering, procurement, project management and project
liaison teams. Our planned growth for our engineering services and solutions in these geographical
markets represents significant investment and our growth targets for these new operational platforms
are high and our expectations also high.

“At PGIS we pride ourselves in offering a total service, utilising project teams to manage each project to
ensure on-time delivery in accordance with the project specifications. Our interest is to build a long
term, ongoing relationship with each of our clients. Each team is led by a dedicated project manager
who coordinates engineers, site coordinators and documentation specialists,” adds Snell.

PGIS has a core strategy of using IT and the internet to create maximum awareness of its value
proposition and proactively define its design, procurement and engineering expertise on global basis. As
Snell explains, the company has been investing in state of the art operational and ERP software with
robust internet platforms capabilities on a global basis.

This significant investment is part of the key strategies being spearheaded by Khalid Al-Hamdan,
managing director of the Pan Gulf Group where integrated reporting systems, increasing operation
efficiencies and inherent cost savings for the benefit of clients are implicit.

As well as notching a significant market share in the GCC, PGIS is developing strongly in Australasia, India
and the Caspian key which are key drivers for accelerated growth.

“We have developed a very specific niche in each market underpinned by our proven engineering and
design expertise. Our end-user base includes Sabic, Saudi Aramco, Maaden, Qatar Petroleum in the
Middle East, KBR in Australia and PTT Asahi Chemical in Thailand. These end users being supplied
through many of the leading EPC contractors.”

Snell remains positive that despite the volatility in oil prices the development of his specialist
engineering and procurement services will grow particularly in the gas and petrochemicals sectors. Even
with fluctuations in oil prices, Snell is confidently expanding his industrial services where gas is the
feedstock for process and petrochemical industries such as Qatar, India and Australia.

“PGIS can ensure that projects are fully installed and commissioned on time working closely to ensure
the maximum co-ordination between ourselves and other site disciplines. Our commissioning engineers
are well trained and are well versed with site safety procedures,” he adds.

In the Middle East, PGIS is headquartered in Saudi Arabia with regional offices in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and
Snell is looking to establish a significant presence in Qatar.

The company’s scope of works includes processing basic petroleum materials into products in plants
that require:
