ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the demographic profile and the Monthly Family
Income of The Grade XI Students of Guinpana-an National High School-Poblacion
Extension S.Y. 2018-2019 in Relation to their Academic Performance. The data about the
Demographic Profile of the respondents and the Monthly Family Income in Relation to
the Academic Performance were obtained using the self-made questionnaire made by the
researchers.

Frequency and percentage was used in determining the profiles of the respondents
in terms of demographic variables such as age, sex, and parents’ educational attainment.
To determine the Monthly Family Income of the respondents, frequency count and
percentage distribution were also used.

Pearson R was employed to determine the significant difference between Monthly


Family Income and demographic profile such as age, sex, and parents’ educational
attainment.

Findings revealed that the Monthly Family Income of the respondents have no
effect on their Academic Performance. It means that most of the respondents in this study
have tendency to reach their dreams even if they are still striving from poverty. They will
never abandon their dreams if they believe that “Poverty is not a hindrance to success”.
