Electra power line design
software workflow
Electra DTM tool produces a 3D terrain model, which is used to design the power line route and
profile creation.
ELECTRA POWERLINE
Axis manager
Run the Axis manager command to define a new alignment or set active one from the alignments
list, in order to design new one or edit existing power line route alignment.
After running the command Conductors / Define Conductor (or Poles / Edit poles) select the
supporting pole in profile (red color pole)
Determine the pole marking (name), console labels, insulators height, pole height (the default value
is always 10m) and determine the conductors attached to a pole in the lower part of the user
interface by clicking on the + button.
After clicking on the + button new dialog window opens for selecting the catenary, where another
click to the + button is necessary to define the mechanical characteristics of new cables and load
factors.
When conductor is added to a supporting pole a preview is set within the tightening field defined by
two supporting poles.
TIP:
For a rapid drawing of successive support poles press > space < key after pole was inserted.
Pole drawing position preview and conductor sag preview:
Data labeling
After poles and conductors have been drawn the labels are automatically drawn in appropriate
profile bands.
Labeling / Label safety distance
The command Label safety distance labels the height between lowest conductor and the terrain line
to Safety distance profile band.
