1) Sandy shore:
• Deposition of sand by wave.
• Sandy shores also called beaches, are coastal shorelines where sand
accumulates.
• Waves and currents shift the sand.
• Sandy shore full of life, bacteria and other microscopic creatures.
• Birds habitat beaches, like gulls, loons, sandpipers, terns and pelicans.
• Aquatic periwinkles, crab, shrimps, starfish and sea urchin.

2) Rocky shore:
• Little deposition.
• The rocky shore is difficult place to live.
• Most diverse populations of marine plants and animals can be found here.
• There animal have many different adaptations to protect themselves and find
food.
• Sea weed and microscopic plants produce the basic food of the ocean using the
Sun’s energy.
• In the rocky shores sponges, sea squirts mussels, farworms and barnacle filter
tiny food particle from the water.
• On the rocky shores the mussel is successful species secured to the rock with
their byssal treads.
• Hermit crab, starfish, mussel, sea amnion etc. live on the rocky shore.

3) Muddy shore:
• Mudflats are coastal wetlands that form achen mud is deposited by tides or
rivers.
• Found in sheltered areas such as bays, bayous and estuaries.
• Mudflat may be viewed geologically at exposed layer of bay mud, resulting from
deposition of estuarine sits, clays and marine animal detritus.
• Mudflat are important regions for wild life, supporting a large population, levels
of biodiversity are not particularly high.
• They are important to migratory birds.
