included teaching lessons to students, specifically math and science, doing experiments with
students in small groups, supervising small group activities, grading paper and tests, giving

Responsibilities included tutoring students in math, reading, and writing after school,

Additional Experience Related to Career Objective

creating an lesson plan on a science topic to teach to students for an hour and a half each
week, classroom management, doing experiments and monitoring safety issues, checking
for comprehension. August 2009- present, one and a half hours of teaching per week

Tutor, Urbana Middle School, Urbana, IL. Responsibilities include supervising a classroom of
children during “silent reflection” journaling time, assisting sixth grade students with
homework assignments and organizational skills. September 2008-present. One hour per

Volunteer, Spaulding Park Recreation Center, Champaign, IL (Project Dirt After School Program).
Responsibilities included assisting children with autism, down syndrome, chromosome
deficiencies, and the legally blind with their school work. Motivating and supporting the
children in their struggles through different activities was a big part of my duties. January

ICES forms organizer, Center for Teaching Excellence, Champaign, IL. Responsibilities
include organizing forms orders to be shipped to correct instructors, finding mailing
addresses, filing completed forms, and alphabetizing forms to go through processor for
scoring. October 2008-present.
Cashier, TIS Bookstore, Champaign, IL. Responsibilities included working a register to
complete purchases for the customers, assisting with finding merchandise, cleaning,
security, supervising personal items not allowed in store. August 2008-September 2008,
