Name of the Project: CLAVER TOURISM RELATED ACTIVITIES INTEGRATION AND LINKAGE

Project Description:
The Local Government Unit of Claver is inviting our esteemed investors to invest on
project CTRAIL or the Claver Tourism Related Activities Integration and Linkage. CTRAIL is an LGU
initiated project which aims to boost the tourism industry in the Municipality of Claver. This is a
first of a kind project of the municipality for tourism which consists of the establishment and
integration of tourism related activities in the tourist areas developed by the LGU like the
KABUJUAN white sand island, Lambason islet, Magallanes river, Malinawa Spring and many more.
The following tourist activities were planned to be implemented for 2020:
1. Banana Boat Ride
2. Inflatable Park
3. River Cruising/ Boat Buffet All you can
4. Zipline and Zorbing
5. Kart Racing Park
6. All terrain vehicle (ATV) rental
7. Wall climbing/ Rappeling
8. Snorkeling and Diving
Under the CTRAIL project, the LGU will provide for all of the necessary areas required for
this joint venture engagement. Aside from the area, the LGU will make all of the plans including
the CTRAIL masterplan, Business Plan for each of the project, feasibility study, Value Chain
analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis and nationwide extensive marketing and promotion. All the
investor has to do is to provide for the capital for the establishment of the mentioned tourist
activities, to operate, to manage and to maintain the same without much to think as to the
externalities of running this business.
To first time investors, the LGU- Claver is offering a one-time local tax holiday incentive

and waiver of regulatory fees for 3years extendable for 2 years for those who wish to invest on
CTRAIL. This is one way of showing that we care and support much for our investors.

MUNICIPAL PROFILE:

The Municipality of Claver is the only second-class municipality in the province of Surigao
del Norte, Philippines with a total land area of 322.60 square kilometres (124.56 sq mi). It is the
largest municipality of the province. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 32,773
people. It is approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) southeast of the provincial capital, Surigao City.
The town can be reached by bus, van-for-hire and jeepney from the Surigao Integrated Bus &
Jeepney Terminal or at any point along the national highway. A large part of the municipal land
area is reserved for mining because of the large iron mineral deposits on its soil. Two of the
biggest mining companies in the country are currently operating in the Municipality, Taganito
Mining Corporation and Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation. About a hundred of subcontractors
are as well tied up with this two giant corporation. Overall, mining is the major economic driver
of the Municipality
Next to mining, the municipality sees a huge potential for tourism. One of the only two
seaport access in going to the world renowned destinations and world wonders like Bucas
Grande group of islands, Enchanted Sohoton Cove and the surfing capital of the Philippines,
Siargao Island, is located in Brgy. Hayanggabon, Claver. On an average, the total number of
arrivals for the months of March, April, May, early June, September, October, November and
December, reaches about 60,000. This is all time high figures were recorded in 2017 and 2018.
Thus the overall thrust of the municipality is geared towards developing the tourism industry
which is the best alternative for mining.
