2 - Think about how the instructor presented and explained information. Discuss how the teaching was as a whole. Please explain.

Sheila Bolduc-Simpson
Response Rate 23/34 (67.65%)

• The instructor made videos for each week explaining what was expected of the students. It was nice to be connected on a regular basis, especially since this is an online classroom.
• She do not always make sense. She needs to learn to enjoy retirement and stop teaching. She expects us to read her mind. I hate the way she runs the class by locking the assignments so no one
can ever work ahead.
• The teaching was very eye opening. As someone who had no prior experience with many of the online tools used in this course, the instructions provided made them easy to use.
• The information was generally presented via youtube videos and articles. It was very helpful.
• Helpful!
• I do not feel like the title of the class has anything to do with what the class is about.
• The instructor did a great job in explaining each module every week. Prior to each module, she would provide us with a module overview to let us know what to expect for the upcoming week. This
helped me know what to expect in advance.
• She gives through feedback and clear directions.
• The information given seemed to be adequate. The teaching was fine as it is an online class.
• She provided examples and detailed instructions of what she wanted to be done.
• The teaching as a whole was good and informative, She gave examples for videos we had to make.
• Professor Bolduc-Simpson's teaching was very structured. The professor gave us a video at the beginning of every week so that we knew what to do.
• The instructor presented and explained information in a good way. If a topic was not understood she would provide further explanation.
• The teacher was clear and precise with how she wanted assignments done and submitted.
• Everything was very clear and to the point
• Instructions were straight forward. Some projects felt too rushed and would have enjoyed more time to develop content. Overall made sense and learned a lot.
• The instructor was a very patient and excellent teacher. i constantly had questions and needed feedback which she always provided. she supplied many resources, visual, and video aids to also
help us understand the assignment and complete it.
• She did a great job! The information was thorough and clear.
• I liked how the modules were organized so that we practiced with different tools, editing programs, and storytelling concepts every week.
• I enjoyed the interactive videos and variety of digital story tools the professor provided throughout the course.
• The instructor presented the information through and direct.
• The presentation and explanation of information was well organized; however, some weeks with lighter course work I would have liked the option to work ahead, but the modules were locked.
• The teaching was great. The responses on every assignment were very helpful. They helped me improve for the next assignment.

• I really enjoyed the video quizzes, I like the layout of them and I hope to use them in other classes

• Included instructional videos on more confusing modules to clear up any misunderstandings of the content.
• Interactive videos, digital story tools, and discussion post helped me learn the content of the course the best.
• She has given us lots of video examples and links to learn how to incorporate digital media and storytelling.

concepts of the course and apply the concepts in the mini assignments that we had to do.
• The quiz videos and links for us to research.

• n/a
• Discussion boards helped me to understand where I need to improve or what I was doing well.
• Videos.

• The online modules because they contained short quizzes on instructional videos that I felt helped me understand how to develop my ideas for the digital storytelling projects.
• The most useful materials were the practice tools to use and practice with before making digital story one and two.
• Course materials that were most useful were the discussion boards and see how others did their digital stories as well.
• I think the interactive video assignments and practice tools were the most helpful. Additionally, the peer evaluations for the digital story telling drafts were extremely helpful in making sure the final
drafts were improved.
• Peer reviews and discussions.

6 - Which assignments (paper, project, homework, things you turned in, etc.) supported your learning most? Please explain.
Response Rate 23/34 (67.65%)

• The digital storytelling assignments such as the script writing, storyboards, and the actual video making, were the most helpful in learning about digital storytelling.
• the last thing to do.. so the class is over!
• The video quizzes helped me learn the most. It allowed me to retain the information because the questions were placed throughout the videos.
• Digital Storytelling Tool Assignments
• Video quizes
• The video project drafts supported my learning the most. The idea of getting feedback from not only the professor, but from my peers as well, really helped me in my learning process.
• discussion posts
• Practice assignments
• The big projects where we combined all of th concepts together and the video we watched and smaswered questions throughout the Video.
• Doing online videos was most helpful
• The digital storytelling videos helped support my learning the most because it allowed me to gain insight in what I will be doing in my future as a video editor.
• interactive videos from youtube.
• Our reflection papers because it gave me a chance to see what I learned throughout the course during a certain point.
• Video quizzes
• Projects were a great hands on experience.
• Digital tools supported learning most allowing us to practice the assignment beforehand
• I learned the most from the first Digital Story assignment. There was a lot of trial and error, but the professor provided clear parameters and constructive as well as encouraging feedback. I also
found the peer reviews to be useful because they had structure (specific criterion) that each reviewer needed to write about.
• As I mentioned above, the practice tools were the most useful as they allowed us to tackle smaller parts of the bigger project.
• The two digital storytelling projects were challenging, but helped bring all the modules together into one assignment.
• The interactive videos supported my learning the most because the video would play and state certain characteristics which were then asked in a question form as a quiz.
• The projects supported my learning the most because it made me explore different websites that lets me use their video making platforms.
• I think the use of a variety of graphic and video tools throughout the semester supported my learning the most because now I can create things on many platforms and produce decent content.

7 - Which assignments (paper, project, homework, things you turned in, etc.) were most troublesome? Please explain.

Sheila Bolduc-Simpson
Response Rate 20/34 (58.82%)

• The most troublesome thing about this class for me was having to switch the program tools for each project. I did not like having to open an account on a new program site to do an assignment. It
would have been nice to have learned one, maybe two software options that you had pre-selected as quality, and become really good at using digital storytelling with it throughout the entire class. It
was distracting to have to learn so many new tools and I am not sure I became much better at storytelling in the process.
• trying to learn all the new programs she wants us to know to make 200000000 videos
• The two major video projects were troublesome sometimes when I wouldn't get feedback from the students in the class. Maybe a requirement for each person to have at least one comment for
feedback on their post would fix this.
• Story Proposals
• Ironically, the video projects were the most troublesome. Even though they supported my learning the most, they were also the most difficult because I needed to apply everything that I had learned
throughout the modules and apply it in a project.
• none
• The video posts as using YouTube to post things can lead to issues.
• I don't have any assignments that were most troublesome.
• Creating videos were difficult due to technology reasons
• The only thing that I found troublesome was keeping my digital story to the right length.
• Creating videos could have been difficult but seeing that we were provided with multiple video editor options, I am going to say nothing was troublesome for me.
• Im not sure who grades what but in my first video draft I got a 100 and dint receive any comments on changing anythign about my video. Then when I got the grade for my final video I only got a
around a 70 on it so it was a little confusing.
• The Digital practice tools made no sense. We were no refining any skills we were using for the projects.
• again, the quizzes also had technical issues
• As I mentioned above, the least useful were the interactive videos. It was a hassle to keep rewinding the video just to answer the questions.
• N/A
• Most troublesome projects was determining the theme of the digital story and then being able to put the story all together in video form. Although is wasn't terrible.
• The most troublesome were the little assignments because some of the instructions weren't that clear to me so I got a bad grade of some of them.
• The most troublesome assignment was probably digital story telling video 1 because that was my first time using iMovie, but using it for the second digital story was much easier.
• Long ted talk videos.
