Bullying is an issue that is difficult to be eliminated in schools

What is bullying? Is it just a disease or just and habit for students in our nation.
The definition for bullying is an behaviour among the students from children until adult
phase. They use their benefits or the extra strength or capabilities in certain things such
as their have a muscular body to beating bully at other that are weaker. This imbalance
power always occur in our daily life and yet still happen by generations. Hence, bullying
is an issue that is difficult to eliminated in schools. Statistics have showed that 84
percent of kids in Malaysia experienced of bullying. This is very bad for our students
and the cause will affect our education because our kids are the pioneer to our
education develop and be among the top nations in the world. Therefore, I agree that
bullying is an issues that is hard to eliminate in our education especially in schools.

The first cause of bullying factors in our country is lack of religious education.
The rapidly developing country demands its people to work hard to meet the needs of
life. In the pursuit of the world, parents are too busy so no time to educate children. For
high-income families, child custody is handed over to domestic helpers who are
definitely from foreign countries. Parents should be aware that applying pure values in
children is more effective if educated from the beginning. Parents who are too busy with
their respective careers do not have the time to communicate and understand their
children. The weakness of family institutions causes children to be left free and less
dependent from their parents. As a result, parents fail to provide religious education and
apply pure values in their children. Some of these bullying actors regard their deeds as
mere hobbies. This suggests that a society that is increasingly advanced and educated
does not produce a first class mind individual.

Besides that, bullying also occur because the school rules are less effective to
avoid bully. From a different perspective, this old school rules that mostly causes
bullying issues become more rapidly spreading and hard to be stop. This situation
occurs when some schools today are more concern with academic achievement more
exam that been oriented. For them, the achievement of student excellence from the
academic aspect becomes a measure of the performance of school excellence. If this is
the case, the school will lose focus to handle cases and not analyze report about bully
that happen in the school that rapidly increase. The school also does not impose strict
rules and penalties on student who commit other students violence and the attitude of
the school is just like pretending and covering the cases that happen at their school. As
an example, about 20 students in St. David at Bukit Baru, Melaka quarrel at the school
canteen and hit each other using a chair. This incident proves that this group of

students is challenging and does not afraid about the regulations set by the school. Due
to that, the National Education Philosophy to create a holistic person will be buried if the
symptoms of gangsterism are widespread among children. Furthermore, the parents
trust in the school to produce quality as a leader or a succesful students will also be
affected. Thus, the uncertainty of school rules and attitudes is also among the causes
of bullying symptoms among children are difficult to overcome.

In addition, family institution that shudder is also a catalyst for bullying that
mostly happen in our life. Misunderstanding between family members are also the
causes the bonding between family fractured. Due to that, all the members will not
concern one another and lost as a result of selfishness without thinking about the
impact that would jeopardize the lives and the happiness of the family especially the
lives of their children in their house. According to the Department of Islamic
Development (JAKIM), divorce rate of Muslim couples in Malaysia occurs once in 15
minutes. This familiy will be neglected to give their affection to children who always
need care and attention from their parents. This situation is alarming as it will affect
children and youth development and formation of personality. So it is not surprising that
teenagers are willing to engage in symptoms of thugs and gangsterism to attract their
parents and gain their concern, love, and full attention to them. Therefore, family
institution also creates a teen bullying phenomenon that wants to release their anger to
other people due to the crisis that happen to them at home.

Furthermore, the other cause of bullying is the influence of high-tech media. In

this globalization era, the number of people using high-tech media such as television,
radio and most in demand right now is the internet. Nowdays, the internet networks are
growing rapidly and has been monopoly by the youth. Studies have reported that 80
percent of chidren are surfing the internet and this number are still growing by days. We
cannot deny that to achieve a developed nation we need to advance with current
development and technologies. Unfortunately, this high-tech has spoiled the youth by
showing violent acts such as ‘KL Gengster’ and ‘WWE’. This realtiy show or movie
showing acts that vigorously and dangerous can affect the mind of children. As a result,
they will imitate and follow the action without considering the effects of the actions. In
short, the negative influence of high-tech also a catalyst to bullying in school.

 As a conclusion, there many reasons why bullying cannot be eliminated in
school. I have stated a firm and clear stand that bullying in school is hard to prevent
based on the three argument that written above. These arguments thath have stated
which have may be agreed by some and disagreed by other basically, but we all agree
that bullying is a critical problem in our country and it’s a major concern to all. Besides
that, there are some ways that we could do before this virus of bully spread more. We
as family, school and neighbourhood have to cooperate as a one team by informing
each other in the team. This action may stop this bullying cases because the bully
cannot bullies the others because they feel like been watching on their action. It is my
deepest hope that one day, our country would free from bullies and our children will
study safely at school.
