Through all life’s forms, there is a contribution to the wellness of one’s body. Inclusively,
lifestyle, culture, diet and society also contributes to diseases in our country. A disease is a
symptoms that is not simply a direct physical injury. Specific diseases in our society that are
considered preventable and impact overall wellness would be diabetes, cardiovascular disease,
Primarily, diabetes is a disease which the body’s ability to create or respond to the
hormone insulin is impaired. People living with the disease have evaluated the levels of
the pancreas by the islets of Langhans and regulates the amount of glucose in the blood. There
are two types of the disease, type one diabetes does not produce insulin while type two diabetes
does not respond to insulin and later on does not make enough. Overall wellness effected is
physically usually overweight and mentally negative or depressed from an unhealthy diet or
worry to long-term health. With physical wellness the production of producing insulin is
unbalanced and affects body to produce insulin. Diabetes has not always been prevalent as for
the United States; in the year 1980, 5.8 millions of people have been diagnosed but there are 17.9

million today. Particularly in the U.S. as the country with the most obese population, the large
body weight risks the individual to be diagnosed. This is not the case everywhere, diabetes could
sugar which increased one’s body weight. Diabetes somewhat involves nutrition and exercise as
part of that prevention due to the chances increasing when overweight. Nutrition and exercise is
not completely the prevention of being diagnosed with diabetes because some chances of being
diagnosed is genetic. From my personal experience, I live with several family members who
have this disease, being genetic, which could have made me susceptible. Since these members of
my family are catiouse of their food intake to regulate their sugar levels, their diet contributes to
my diet being similar. The social and culture influences of food intake does affect how an
individual or a family could risk being preventative from the disease especially with the example
o the lifestyle in the US. Many culture and socio-economic risk and are unable to prevent being
diagnosed with this disease. Maintaining a diet with all the nutritional components needed for
one’s body with not an excessive amount of carbohydrates or sugar could possibly prevent one
being diagnosed.
narrowed blood vessels that can lead to heart attacks, strokes, or chest pain. Other conditions that
affects the heart’s rhythm or valves are also considered be forms of heart disease. The term
generally means damage of the heart or blood vessels by atherosclerosis, a buildup of fatty
plaques in the arteries that thicken and stiffen the walls which can inhibit blood flow to organs
and tissues. This disease could be considered preventable to factors that increase the risk such as

an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, being overweight, and smoking. However, genetic factors of
heart related conditions likely play a role. Mental wellness that is affected from cardiovascular
disease is linked with having depression and anxiety. Having this disease can affect your attitude
and mood and future anxiety to long-term health. As previously mentioned, diet and food intake
contributes and plays a large factor of prevention to this disease as well. Saturated and trans fats
increase cholesterol rates which contributes to heart production. Nutrition and exercise therefore,
reduces the chance of having a heart disease and supports regulation of cholesterol. Through my
culture, diet, and lifestyle, I am not much likely to be susceptible to this disease because
genetically, in my family heart failure or heart contributed disease is not at all a factor, as well, I
do not obtain a very irregular or too high of one group of food, that contributes to negatively
affecting my heart. Having a well diet, and exercise is a factor in whichever culture could
Moreover, chronic kidney disease, (CKD) means the damage of the kidneys, unable to
filter blood normally with main risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease,
and a family history of kidney failure. As for physical wellness, there is a decrease in physical
activity do to poor healthy lifestyle yet fitness improves one with chronic kidney disease.
Chronic disease is considered partially preventable since usually caused by heart disease and
diabetes however is not with family history with this disease. Following a proper lifestyle with
food maintenance and physical awareness and activity will reduce chances of having this disease.
Usually society and culture affects what one eats which is a major contribution of being healthy

or not from one’s food intake. Connecting with my health, lifestyle, and diet I am not considered
prone to be diagnosed with this disease since I do not have a major issue of extreme harmful
quantities for my food intake such as in carbohydrates and sugar. Also, genetically there is no
issues involving kidney disease passed down. The major socio-economic or cultural issue that
risks people to have chronic kidney disease would be their food intake, the excessive amounts,
Consequently, specific diseases that our society that are considered preventable and
impact our overall wellness involve diabetes, cardiovascular disease ,and chronic kidney disease.
Diabetes is a disease which the body’s ability to create or respond to the hormone insulin is
impaired. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) refers to conditions that involve blocked or narrowed
blood vessels that can lead to heart attacks, strokes, or chest pain. Chronic kidney disease,
(CKD) means the damage of the kidneys, unable to filter blood normally with main risk factors
such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and a family history of kidney failure.
Overall wellness all contribute to our future long-term result being at risk or prone to diseases
