Westphalia Raided Once Again A New Congress to

Emulate WA

A nation by the name of Republicanana has
taken it upon themselves to form a new Na-
tionStates Congress in an effort to form a
new international legislative coalition due to
dissatisfaction with the World Assembly.

Additionally to making a forum thread on

the subject, Republicanana sent out individ-
ual telegrams to several nations. After re-
ceiving one, I decided to have a chat with
Republicanana about their vision for the NS
Congress.

“The name is the NationStates Congress.

Just over a week back, following
the unexpected ceasing-to-exist of
the founder, Westphalia was raid-
ed by The Black Hawks, in what
seems as a repetition of the raid
that happened over a year back.
This raid was carried out
by Valkyrie, who had led the raid
last time too. This raid itself, while
having a number of interesting
features, also raises some core
questions about the region itself
that must be contemplated going
forward.
The House of Petain, the founder
of Westphalia, went inactive for a
long while, which was followed by
his nation CTEing. His nation
CTEd a little over 150 days ago,
which led to careful planning and
organising of a massive raid
by TBH who decided to carry out
their plans a week back, and raid-
ed Westphalia with a massive
force of over 50 nations, a number
that is still growing. This was
simply a repeat of what happened
over a year back when the found-
er had CTEd, leading to a raid be-
ing carried out by TBH.
This incident had the attention of
the NS metaverse as the raid was
quite large and well planned out.
The raid was followed by a num-
ber of WA proposals which sought
to liberate Westphalia, which in
turn would open it up for defender
forces to liberate the region from
the raiders. These proposals led to
a tussle within the Security Coun-
cil of the World Assembly, as
some failed, while the other were
repealed. Overall, the region was
never liberated.
Ultimately, a significant number
of defenders under the Alliance of
Independent Regions came in and
sought to free Westphalia from
the clutches of the raiders.
As Westphalia soon descended
into a battlefield with various forc-
es seeking control of the region,
out of seemingly nowhere, the
founder revived his nation and
hence, dispelled the raider forces
and the control of Westphalia re-
verted back to the natives. Anoth-
er important incident that hap-
pened around this time was the
migration of a number of…

The particular moment that sparked this
idea is when I realized the WA could not re-
form in any way because of the rules that
ban any changes that would interfere with
the game structure. Like amendments,
which almost every legislature has but the
WA cannot allow them because somebody
would have to change the games coding. I
just realized that we could create something
on the forums that a feature of a game is bet-
ter than.”
Republicanana expanded on what they
wish to achieve by bringing nations together
under this new initiative.
“I am hoping, as well as I hope other na-
tions that join this NS Congress do, is to ex-
pand prosperity throughout the entirety of
NS for the betterment of our citizens. This
[implementation] will be a problem for a

Election Troubles in Allévarres

Allévarres is a small group of is-
lands in southern Veropa, a fictional
continent in the Universal Pact. Al-
lévarres is known for its geographical
beauty, but it has recently been mak-
ing the news for completely different
reasons.

Background Information
The origin of all of the controversy
surrounding Allévarres dates back to
the 2015 Presidential Election, when
Élvernne Jitspatrique was elected the
President of Allévarres.

At first, he was praised for his will-
ingness and determination to make
everyone equal economically (he
funded charities and support ser-
vices, for example).
However, as the years passed, this

When asked, Xiulens, the native for-
mer WA Delegate, and currently the
native with the most endorsements,
said:

we were not expecting it just yet.”
The region was in the process of
switching leaderships when the raid
happened, which made them all the
more vulnerable. He further men-
tioned that, “[…]We did not have
many allies to contact and every WA
nation in the region was endorsing
me….. So we did not really have an
action plan.”
Considering the region was in the
exact same predicament over a year
back, it is rather surprising to see the
region was not particularly prepared
this time around either. In the words
of Xiulens, “Nothing changed. With-
out a founder, we were quite power-
less.” This raised the question of what
next, for both the raiders and the na-
tives.
For The Black Hawks, the way
ahead is rather straightforward. They
will be looking for a refound, so that
they can add another region to their
growing list of trophy regions. How-
ever, in order to execute a refound,

Election Troubles in Allévarres

What Happened Next
Elections were called in early 2019.
Just before these took place, there
was an uproar from the Allévarrian
people. The conflicts came predomi-
nantly from the supporters of the far
left and far right parties. As the
fighting became more violent, people
started to flee Allévarres.
Originally, other Veropan nations,
such as Neviersia, took in a few hun-
dred thousand people. However, as
the borders became too crowded,
they began to turn the refugees away
from their ports.
Elections
Elections had been postponed many
times throughout the last few months
of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. In
February, however, the day of the
elections finally came around. And
soon after, the results were an-
nounced.
The PDL (Partier Démocrats
Libériel) ended up as the winners of
the elections. Other successful parties

Conclusion
There is no quick fix to the prob-
lems in Allévarres; the division runs
deep. Despite many efforts to re-
install democracy to the country,
nothing has worked yet. Hope for the
situation in Allévarres to improve is
high however, despite the consensus
that it will take a while to do so.
