Daily Promises of God

for educators John 14:27

NIV - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

RSV - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

KJV - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

LB - I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile
like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Note to the educator

Our Lord is the Ultimate Gift Giver. Everything that has ever been created has been made by
Him. He is the beginning and the end and He has given us the gift of His peace. He has also
told us not to be troubled or afraid. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to say that to your

students? Do not let your hearts be troubled. Do not be afraid. They are only empty words
without His authority, but Christian educator, you have Him in you each day you enter the
schoolhouse. He can and will help our students with their troubles and fears. Let us pray that
they all come to know Him personally. Let these beautiful words of Jesus ring out in your

classroom, “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” because they are both comforting for your
students and recognizable as His words to those who are Christ followers.
