SOLUTIONS
1. Borax bead test is not given by colourless / white compounds.

2. Structure of borazole is
H

H B H
N N

B B
H N H

3. It has p-p back bonding (From F to B).

4. This order is explained by more electron deficiency on B in BBr 3 becuase of lesser back bonding by Br due to larger
size.

6. The product is ethyl borate [B(OC2H5)3] whose vapours burn with green edged flame.

7. Na2B4O7 gives H3BO3 (weak acid) and NaOH (strong base) in aq. solution so, it is alkaline in nature.

8. Because of inert pair effect +1 state is more stable in In. So, InCl3 will disproportionate to give InCl & In.

10. GaCl2 has been shown to be Ga+[GaCl4]– which contains Ga(I) and Ga(III).
